The Club at Riverstone — Attraction in Thompsons

Nice Pool but A Terrible experience when it came to renting their ballroom. Maybe they took down the google page for their rec center itself, so I’ll just post it here. We rented the ballroom for a party. Party was on a Saturday @ 6pm, we were instructed to come in at 4pm to start decorating and the tables and chairs would already be set up at that time as well. We came at 4pm and all the doors were locked and no employee was in sight. We had to get someone from the gym and pool to let us in after we showed proof that we rented the ballroom. We get to the ballroom and not a single chair or table is set up. We waited, we tried to set up what we could and we called anybody who worked there for help (but no one answered). Now it's 5:15pm our party starts at 6pm and we are panicking and finally Barbara calls us back. And with the most disappointing and ridiculous response ever. She says that she has it written down that our party starts at 8pm and tables and chairs would be set up at 6pm. If our party starts at 8pm why would the sheriff come at 6:30pm to supervise our party? And our contract never mentions anything about our party starting at 8pm. We begged Barbara if there is anything she can do to help us and all she tells us is "I can't do anything for you. There's nothing I can do for you." Not even a single apology on the phone over the problem and stress she caused and her tone didn't seem like she was apologetic about it one bit. Finally, around 5:45 is when a worker came and we got our chairs and tables. We had to push the party back to 7pm due to the fact that we could never get our party set up and ready in 15 minutes. The only good thing about this was Brandon, the employee who helped us set up the chairs and tables. He was instructed by Barbara, who made the mistake, to come in at 6pm so I do not blame him. I do appreciate Brandon understanding our situation and working the fastest he could to get the tables and chairs ready. All I can say is if you plan on renting the ballroom, triple-check everything and get the cell phone numbers of employees in case you need them the day...

Showed up with a somewhat larger group (11) and one guest pass. Lifeguards were awesome and tried to help accommodate us so that our family that was in town from out-of-country (hence the large group) could get in and enjoy a nice pool/water park. However, the front office was not as helpful. The lady, Hannah I believe, pretty much just stated policy in that each house only gets one guest pass "so that everyone has a chance to swim," despite the pool being quite empty upon our arrival. We went back to the lifeguards who then went so far as to find it in writing where policy stated differently than what Hannah was saying. All in all, the only reason I didn't give just one star rating was due to the lifeguards at least attempting to be helpful despite a rather strict pool policy. If going with a group larger than 5, make sure you know another homeowner so "you can borrow their guest pass." They also only take money order or personal check if you are able to buy a pass for $15-$50 apparently. We ended up cutting our losses and left to one of our apartment complex pools where policy is much more reasonable. If the establishment reads this, please update your policy to be more accommodating for those that have extended family in town, improve communication with the lifeguards (it's amazing how much more compassionate and willing to help a teenager is compared to the adult in the front office), and also improve the procedure for buying guest passes so that if someone found themselves needing one, they could easily do it with a credit...

I was here for my neices first birthday party. Due to my brothers home flooding it was a logical substitute. I was there early to fill balloons with helium and make stupid jokes with a high pitched voice, both of which I did, and did well. The room we we're in was not big, but it had two TV's on the wall and an alcove that worked out well for a clown that had a cat allergy... Yeah I talk to people.... The management was very accommodating, in fact they lent an HDMI cable to my brother which kept me from having to undo the bird'snest behind my tv that I just recently added 37 zip ties to in order to keep it out of site. Kitchen is well equipped and spotless. Restrooms are great but the men's room needs a baby changing table. All in all, a great place for small...
