American Mattress Family — Attraction in Thousand Oaks

My boyfriend and I purchased a Back Supporter bed by Spring Air last year and spent $1,600 on this bed. American Mattress Man claimed that the bed was priced at a discount. This was the first lie that this company fed us. You can barely find the brands of products they sell online because they are so unpopular and not name brands. They claim their mattress brands are "higher quality" than name brands that you'd find at other stores in the area like Sit N' Sleep and Ortho Mattress and tout themselves on how much better their mattresses are than big box brands like Sealy, Serta, Tempur-Pedic, etc. Upon further investigation, we came to find out that the bed is selling on some discount warehouse site online for the same price! So, the bed was never on discount, but rather the same price that we were charged. My ultimate complaint though, is that the bed we were sold was atrociously terrible quality. This bed was slept on for no more than 1 month and already formed a permanent concave where our bodies were. The bed had ZERO bounce-back, like we were sold on in the store. Since sleeping on it from the beginning, there has been nothing but sleepless nights and terrible back pain. They claim they have a great return policy, except you can't get your money back and all of their mattresses are so poorly built that you can't even find one worth it to exchange your faulty product for. Another lie they sold us on was that this was a 10-20 year mattress. It looked and felt 20 years old after 1 month! We now own a Sleep Number ILE and are 1000% happy with our purchase. It was expensive, but good, solid quality. I am so angry that we spent $1600 on this mattress and basically just lost out on the money. Not wanting to repeat the same mistake I made in my last mattress purchase, I visited several mattress stores and finally found a store that didn't push me into just any mattress - American Mattress Man!

Upon entering the Newbury Park, I was shocked (in a good way) that I was warmly greeted as if I was entering someone's home. Rob, the store manager asked me questions about why I needed to replace mine. Told him I had back issues and with integrity, honesty and cordiality guided to beds to meet my wants and needs, including my budget. The purchasing experience was made easy.

So, If you want to be treated like family rather than just another customer, look no further. You can't beat the selection and more importantly the buying experience. Almost forgot great customer service and follow up too. They don't just talk the talk, they walk it.
