The hubby bubby was wishing the group of small children had been supervised, even deduced that they had to have just been dropped off at the theatre! There was even the eventual music of a cell phone or tablet game as well as a ringing phone interfering with the movie! After the film, we realized adults were there, just not particularly of the type that are able to think outside their own comfort or care about proper theatre etiquette. All that aside, the experience was a really great one! The memories made for our 8 year old (who teaches me the names of dinosaurs!) will last a lifetime! We hadn't been to the movies in so very long! I was pretty confusing when ordering our concessions, then realized I was rung up wrong. The staff immediately made things right! As they made things right, I added the refund to their tip container! These amazingly kind and hard working humans need more tips, guys!!! Just know that that small gesture means soo much! This theatre is much easier on the pocketbook then others. Supporting small business is where it's at! Thank you for a...
Read moreA great theater considering that there is nothing else locally. It is nice to have food and beer/cider, and they are pretty good at keeping newly released movies in. Its about $8.50 per person with show times typically around 2pm, 6pm and 9pm, with varying hours during Monday thru Thursday. Tuesdays are $5 for everyone before 6pm.
There are two downsides, however. 1: The seats are horrible - they are small and do not adjust, and the arm rests do not move back either. 2: Eat before you arrive - they no longer serve pizza so all you can get is popcorn, the chips and cheese, a hot dog, or a soft pretzel (minus the salt).
I understand that since COVID they no longer have the support of the local pizza place (or however they got the pizza), but then change the prices. Each item listed above is a minimum of $5 and its the simplest of menu items. We just always try to go out or pick up food before we go to the movies. That way I am not spending $40 alone on dry hot dogs and pop so that we can all be starving...
Read moreAlways like a small theater especially one that is revived from probably oblivion. The Coliseum is a sweet 250 ish seat one screen charger. Plenty of space between aisles, old but reasonably comfortable seats with rigid handles between. I am never comfortable in theater seats in general but these were no worse than modern moviehouses. The staff were fun and competent, already a step above the giant multiscreen locations usually staffed by smartphone preoccupied staff. the memorabilia in the lobby was interesting. Though parking is on Street in the neighborhood, we ended up parking out front! The sound system was better than expected and the screen itself seemed pristine. Entry price was superbly below big city tickets which was welcome. After the movie we had a nice conversation with a staff member who provided some historical context to the movie house. All in a...
