I have always enjoyed eating here until today when I met their employee Zoe. Not only did she ignore my girlfriend and I standing in the pouring rain while engaging in small talk with the customer ahead of us after they had already been helped, but her body language and tone made it clear that we were inconveniencing her by trying to spend our money here. I ignored this and continued to order. I purchased the 2 meat kanak attack, which has always been generous portions to the point where one of us cannot finish it, which is why we ordered this to share today. I received my food and found that the portion was smaller than the regular one meat small size of the teriyaki. I was disappointed so I approached her about my issue. I was met with extreme distain and rushed away as I was told this is how it always is, which is extremely incorrect In my ample experience eating here. They have left a sour taste in my mouth and cost me double what I normally spend for the same amount of food. It was clear she was annoyed we didn't order a second entree but the way she scoffed and asked, " ugh is that all?" Seems like I was shorted for this reason. I highly suggest this business train this employee on customer service etiquette, we are in the food service business ourselves and send plenty of people here and will rethink this in the future. Apparently this business is going through some hard times since it isn't what it used to be. Makes me regret tipping, which is hard for me to say considering my girlfriend survives off tips.
P.S. I never leave reviews but this experience has moved me to leave my very first review ever....
Read moreIn this area, I guess it's all that people know of what Hawaiian food is supposed to be, but it's really not great, as someone who is from Hawaii.
Their rice is undercooked, the Kalua pork is not shredded enough (so large chunks), and they pour teriyaki on everything, even Kalua! Nothing in their menu stated that, so the Kalua pork was full of teriyaki... Didn't order teriyaki pork, not a single place ever served it with the pork (at least the restaurants in Portland get it right).
They have zero customer service skills as well. Wouldn't take my food back, just said sorry that it wasn't listed on the menu. Then another woman in the line was given the wrong food, so the cashier stated, "Sorry, we charged you for the wrong plate, so you have to pay some more."

Read moreI'm extremely disappointed I love this place or should I say I loved it until tonight. I went and got mine and my husbands usual teriyaki chicken got home and they changed teriyaki sauce 😭 it's now extremely thin and there's a soy sauce taste that is over powering. The last couple times we've gone the macaroni salad was alittle different especially with the bigger noodles sometimes which isn't very good with those but that was ok because we loved the teriyaki chicken. So instead of having this for dinner my husband has left to pick something else up for dinner. We are really bummed with the switch of sauce. Hopefully they will go back to their original sauce because I know we aren't the only ones disappointed with the switch. There's no other place close with good teriyaki bring back your original sauce and start selling...
