Well we were first customers of the day, lunch time, Thursday. The crispy chicken wrap with a side salad was a very large wrap but it was just another side salad inside a wrap with a little bit of chicken at it was kind of redundant. Not bad flavor. Just nothing special. The ranch dressing they served was actually very very good. Tropicana lemonade was not mixed correctly from the machine. Very thin. Not very not sweet. Not tart just thin. Club sandwich had no excuse for that middle slice of bread. The three slices of ham appeared to have come straight out of the Oscar Mayer package. Perfectly round. Extremely thin. Flavorless. The three slices of turkey were somewhat better. Not particularly exciting. Single leaf of lettuce. Too many pickles in the sandwich. Two slices of bacon. Way overcooked. Did I mention the bacon was way overcooked? It was way overcooked. No bread choices. French fries were delicious. Actually quite good. Very small portion. Mentioned that to the waitress. Also mentioned that I don't want didn't want additional. That was a time issue. She seemed uncaring. We didn't see her again nor anybody else. When lunch was over we just left. Average steak price on the dining side 30ish to $35. Nothing particularly interesting about the dinner menu at all. Decor very downscale. Unpadded benches. Certainly not the level of atmosphere I expected. Was expecting a steakhouse mentality. It was more like a cafeteria. Yeah we won't be back. Just no reason to go. Better. Club sandwiches are to be had around the corner at Kitty's, the mill, or down the road at the fern. Lower prices too. Kitties is lower service but at least you have table service, the mill offers you the option of a chocolate shake, the fern can get a bowl of soup. Apparently the only thing the corral has besides chili is chicken tortilla soup. Chicken tortilla soup seems to be very common in the area. None of it seems to be very good. All of it seems to be unimaginative. I missed restaurants having two or three, Four soups available. Least one without a...
Read moreI won't be coming here again. Second experience here. Last time I came they actually had a waitress that served us and took our order. First off you have to go up to the counter to take your order... but they will bring you the food and your drinks. Ok cool. Well I ordered the French drip, kids grilled cheese and the steak wrap. Note this was on Mother's Day... the lady comes up to me and tells me they don't have toast for the grilled cheese. And that they completely voided my transaction and I needed to pick something else... ok at that point I should have just walked out but I didn't... so I said I'll take the chicken strips for my kiddo. She legit came back with a new recipe (1.00$) more for the chicken strips and made us re sign the void and re pay... first off... why can't you just take the 1.00 loss? Or better yet ask me if I have 1$ in cash? Or better yet.. it's mothers days... just take the inconvenience on us... nope. So now I'll need to go down to my bank to make sure I didn't get charged for both transactions. Not to mention it was 2pm.... why are you already out of bread for grilled cheese? Sigh 😞 not to mention the food really wasn't the greatest. My French drip was super fatty and the sauce tasted like water. The steak wrap was nothing but salad.. and the chicken strips were over cooked. Should have taken a picture.. but doesn't matter cause I'm not...
Read moreI knew going in that we'd order at the counter, I've seen positive and negative reviews about the food so I was reserving judgement for a firsthand experience. We sat 7 adults and 1 child. 3 had burgers which were okay, but rather dry. The burgers are served with veggies and/or bacon however there is no sauce or condiments on them. 2 had steaks and 1 had ribeye. The steaks were generally slightly overcooked, thinner than expected, and not well (if at all) seasoned. Steaks are also served dry, absent of any butter or drippings. Prime rib was good, and cooked appropriately. 1 fish and chips of generous portions, oddly served with fries AND tortilla chips and salsa. Fish was good but kinda chewy, and the tartar sauce, which I assume is house-made, was too sweet. The child, absent a printed children's menu had Mac and cheese and fries. It's looked like standard kraft Mac and cheese and he approved. The fries and onion rings served as sides to most orders were in fact good. Would orders fries again for sure. Chowder and Caesar salads were also good, though I felt there was a little too much Caesar sauce. Overall not an unforgivable experience, but missed the mark largely on burger recipe quality, steak prep consistency, and lacks a level of service and presentation one might expect at...
