Not the gym for heavy lifting- Young girl who claimed to be the floor manager stopped a guest tour to talk to me mid rep while I am deadlifting 495 to tell me that the Coated plates break on the rubber platform and I can only use the 3” bumpers- I tried to tell her (while mid rep) that’s not true, but also I have a bumper first so the black plates don’t touch the floor- besides the gym has maybe 14 blues downstairs and a bar can’t fit 5 bumpers plus and clips on these bars. Anyways- walking up to someone mid set at heavyish weight is crazy dangerous- I went upstairs and asked to speak to a manager- she said she was it. So I asked for someone above her. She was rather young, very rude and I really didn’t believe she was a manager. Anyways as I walked away ( to this point in the interaction I was nice) and she then starts talking bad about me and I am not even 10 feet away. Then I was no longer as nice- lots of people complain about her. Overall- the gym has nice accessories equipment- peak hours have 350 plus people there and the staff is very young and new to the fitness industry- With so many option and if a young girl who thinks deadlifting breaks coated plates is in charge, there are so many better options. Also- other friends and family heard her continue to talk about me well after I left . Unfortunately for her this video is posted of her literally telling me this as I am lifting. But I did hear her say that didn’t happen when she was talking 💩 about me to staff… camera says…..that was a lie Literally a screen shot of my face which my friends turned into a meme of me looking confused as to why she’s scolding me during a deadlift

Unfortunately the gym got greedy, while the new gym is quite nice and some staff are great you have to pay $37 to use amenities that should be included in every other base membership and to top that your guest can't even play with you so you have to have them pay. Meanwhile the courts are empty a good portion of the time. What is crazy is they increased the price from the last location but still are asking you for more money to use stuff. Not worth the membership anymore

Beautiful new gym, lots of new equipment, including a better climate, but not the hours…7 p.m. on weekends. What is it? A department store or a gym? So not everyone has a perfect work-life balance with weekends off;some have to work weekends and then like to go for a workout,so now I guess us weekend workers have to find a gym with normal gym hours and not Macy’s? You have to do better than 7 p.m.

THINK BEFORE JOINING THIS GYM!! Over 5,900 views and counting!! Be careful how you treat people

First let me start by saying, I have been working out for multiple years consistently now. Been to many gyms. I was a member of this gym for about 4 years. The gym is my peace and I like to come get a great workout after a hard day of work, like many of you reading this. I have met some cool people at this gym who I plan to be friends with for a while but I feel that may be the only positive takeaway unfortunately. Now, let me tell you that this is THE MOST toxic, unprofessional and hostile gym environment I have ever been apart of.

I have witnessed many issues with the front desk staff and members. Issues to the point where the front desk associates have almost gotten physical with members. MULTIPLE times. Complaints get swept under the rug and go unnoticed. Don’t even bother. The general manager just sits in his office and seems to have no idea what the gym needs or what goes on in the gym. The owners are non-existent and don’t do anything to properly manage the gym. I have also heard other staff talking about members’ information to other members. Don’t expect complete confidentiality when joining this gym. Your information may be exposed to random people. Clients are not respected by employees AT ALL. They have “no judgments” written on the front desk in big lettering but do nothing but the opposite. It’s a negative environment. Also, the turnover with managers and employees is astronomical and it’s not hard to understand why.

Also, just some things to note. They never have the air conditioner on because it seems they are too cheap to run it. When they have it on, it barely works and they compensate by having fans that blow around hot air. In the summer, it easily gets hot enough for folks to potentially have a heat stroke and that’s a health hazard if I have ever heard one. Corporate is made aware of issues and just doesn’t seem to care. They basically tell you what you want to hear. Also, just to note, don’t even bother coming to the gym in the afternoon or anytime before 7. You’ll see kids talking in groups in front of weights and they will not care if you are trying to workout. Their conversation is more important than your workout apparently. Not to mention, they all have their little cliques like it’s high school. Grown people come here to workout and do not want to be bothered by teenagers standing around flexing and talking. Let’s not forget about the classes on the turf either. They are scheduled at the busiest time of the gym and there is no separate room for the classes. They blast music throughout the gym. Good luck focusing on your workout with them screaming and blasting music you can easily hear through your headphones.

Just to add more notes; the equipment is subpar. It is the cheapest, bottom of the barrel stuff on the market. Don’t expect any updates or new equipment as I was a member for years and absolutely nothing was changed. The cleanliness is the same. Mildew on the walls under the blow dryers for example. Simple to clean yet it doesn’t get done. Not too mention they don’t even supply paper towels to wipe your face after a workout. They have gotten better at fixing equipment when it breaks but still could use some improvement.

I’ve been to many gyms in my days and this is easily the most toxic, unprofessional and hostile gym I’ve been apart of. Gym culture is just not what it used to be. All of these reviews speaking out against management and a hostile environment could not be more true. There are SO many better options in the area. Take a look at the other reviews, management and staff clearly have a problem treating people with decency and respect. If you are serious about lifting and don’t want to lift in a total negative environment, I HIGHLY advise considering other options...

I recently moved to Toms River and joined Crunch Fitness. I have been a member of other gyms in the past and was unhappy. Crunch Fitness is by far my favorite. The customer service is exceptional, and it feels like a family the staff is very motivational and supportive.

I signed up for the 1 on 1 personal training with Kyle 2x's a week and cannot begin to express how happy I am with him as a trainer. Kyle is always switching it up and making it fun. I look forward to our sessions and never feel intimidated as he is right there cheering you on and making sure you are in proper form. I have back issues and anytime something does not feel right he always finds an alternative so that I get the most out of my workouts without any pain. Best part is that I started seeing results shortly after I started this journey of getting back into shape and trying to put myself as a priority!!

I also started working with Tim in order to get my diet inline with my work out. He is so knowledgeable and makes it so easy as he created a daily menu for me to follow which takes the stress off of me trying to create my own and not knowing if portions are correct. He listed out everything. Tim also is more than happy to answer any of my questions and because I have food allergies he took the time and created the diet that will work best for me. The results are amazing especially in combination with working out.

Like I mentioned before Crunch Fitness in Toms River is like family and I would recommend this facility to anyone. I look forward to going every week.

Tim and Kyle thank you both for being part of my journey you have provided me with the tools and confidence to keep...
