Phil's Glass Inc — Attraction in Tooele

I went in to have a pane of glass cut to size and some holes drilled into it for a project of mine since I don’t have the tools to do it myself. The owner wasn’t in and the receptionist was far from helpful. She seemed like she didn’t want to be bothered and kept saying “I’m not sure we can do that” (referring to simply cutting the glass in half for me), and “do you realize how much he’s going to charge you to have those holes drilled?” Basically she had no idea what they could and couldn’t do and she kept making it sound like I was going to get charge and arm and a leg for a really simple project. She was also quite rude during the whole conversation. Of course once I told her I’d have to look at my options she suddenly didn’t want me to leave and wanted me to leave my pane of glass there and if they couldn’t do it then they’d cut me a new piece (which, of course, I’d get charged for so no thank you). Also the people that actually cut the glass are only apparently in and out without real set hours and so it isn’t really easy to get ahold of them to talk to about your options which I feel is pretty bad for business. We have had an excellent experience. The service has been prompt and top notch from start to finish. We are on a tight budget and shopped around. The gentlemen that came to measure and give the quote in the first place was also professional and ready to answer all my questions. And I had a lot. The man who came to install the windows was also very professional. He made sure the work was done right, clean, and quick. He finished the entire job in just one day. Phil is honest and good at what he does as I have a friend who has used him before and recommended him. Several of my basement windows appeared to be leaking. I arranged for 3 replacement bids. When Phil came out, he actually helped me evaluate the problem rather than just bidding as the others had. He did not feel the windows need to be replaced and gave me several suggestions which were simple for me to complete. He repaired a contributing condition that I was unable to do myself at a very reasonable price and in the time frame agreed upon.
