This is an awesome museum founded in 2012. They have a small parking lot on the backside of the building. The customer service was friendly. This place is welcoming to people from all walks of life, it feels very inclusive. Tip: we got discounted museum tickets from the library. We easily spent three hours there and my children loved everything minute of it.
Children are encouraged to pretend play. Exhibits are created for kids ages 1 to 10. Everything was hands-on, educational, and invokes the different senses. The Museum was organized by room and theme. We went to the dentist, grocery store/garden, diner, bank, tree house, a stage, music room. There was an area you can "paint" with a wet brush on the wall. A mini firetruck, a maker space, a toddler area, and various exhibits. The interactive floor was another favorite. There was an area where kids can drive on mini cars. They have many events. You can even host a birthday party there. I'm very appreciative of their Asian Culture exhibit; there's a Japan, China, and South Korean display. Overall, we had a fun time playing with...
Read moreA great spacious clean place with kind staff and much to do for children. I've noticed the newer areas and I hope the creativity continues.
I give 4 stars because it could use some new creative ideas/themes to specific play areas throughout the place.
There is an instrument/music room id like to see updated. The pizzeria theme can be changed to a different food theme (mexican/chinese/Caribbean).
The dentist to a vet scene or doctor scene. The grocery store like a home depot. The water wall maybe some water colors. The bank can use some touch up. The room across the grocery store can use the update also. Just sharing ideas so that kids don't get bored. There is a train area that's awesome. And the addition of play construction site is great too. Overall we...
Read moreExcellent children’s museum! It’s relatively small, but they packed a lot of stuff in here. I’d say it’s better than the Stepping Stones in Norwalk, Everwonder in Newtown, and the Discovery Center in Bridgeport; almost as good as KidCity in Middletown. I went on a weekday (Thursday) and it was pretty empty.
PRICING: They accept ACM, so I got a 50% discount, but it’s normally $10/person, for anyone older than one year old. FACILITIES: super clean and organized for a children’s museum PARKING: on the street, for three hours - get the ParkMobile app. There’s free, but limited, parking behind the museum too. FOOD: vending machines and snack tables inside. Plenty of food...
