Lunch Stop at Just Salad, Totowa, NJ Fresh, Flavorful & Satisfying!
On my way back home from JFK a couple of days ago, I made a quick stop for lunch at Just Salad in Totowa, NJ. I was craving something fresh yet fulfilling, and this spot did not disappoint!
First up, I had the Fajita Salad, a vibrant mix of romaine, kale, roasted corn, pickled red onions, and crispy tortilla chips tossed in a creamy yet tangy dressing. The crunch from the tortilla strips, the slight sweetness of the corn, and the bold flavors of the dressing all blended beautifully. It was a hearty and satisfying salad that didn’t feel like just “rabbit food” – it had real substance and a great balance of textures!
Then came the star of the meal – the Crispy Chicken Cilantro Bowl. Juicy, smoky grilled chicken with a perfect crispy char, drizzled in a creamy cilantro dressing that was packed with herby freshness. The bowl also came with brown rice, guacamole, and a vibrant pico de gallo that added a bright, zesty contrast. The flavors were spot on – a little smoky, a little tangy, and just the right amount of indulgence without feeling heavy.
If you’re ever in the Totowa area and looking for a fresh, flavorful, and fast meal, Just Salad is definitely worth a visit. Their menu is packed with customizable options, and the quality is solid for a fast-casual spot. I’d definitely return to try more of their bowls and...
Read moreThis was our first experience at Just Salad this past weekend. We had ordered online through the app and then decided to dine in because there was a lot of open tables. First let me say, our salads were delicious. Ingredients were fresh. And thank you so much for having vegan options! The cowboy “chicken” is amazing. I however couldn’t leave a 5 star for three reasons. The tables in the area we wanted to sit in were not clean. They had crumbs and salad remnants on them. Secondly, the staff for a lack of better way of saying things were just indifferent. Not friendly, not nasty. More or less getting through the remaining hour of the day before the store closed. Lastly, the music was at an obnoxious level. I literally recorded it because my boyfriend and I couldn’t even hear each other from across the table. The speakers were blasting Spanish music (songs like Triste Verano and Me Porto Bonito) thanks to the Shazam feature on my iPhone. Having a much lower level and possibly a Top 40 radio station would make it a much more pleasurable dining experience. Leaving with a migraine was not what I had expected. I really want to say we will be back but not sure if we would...
Read moreI was disappointed to see how many food handling violations were made within 5 minutes of waiting on service.
The server dropped the food item outside the container and threw it back into the serving bowl.
The server with gloves began to scratch at her eye.
The server closed the on the go container salad container with the outside of her forearm on bare skin.
The server pushed garbage down without gloves into trash can and served our last items of food.
The server placed our bread onto a dirty tray and never replaced it.
Called corporate to find out this location is privately owned.
The station outside is also very dingy and unkept.
