Uncorked Wine Lounge — Restaurant in Totowa

It is a shame to write such a bad review for such a great place. My husband and I had booked the space for our open bar, 30th Birthday party with friends and family. We are regular patrons of Uncorked and always have a great time. The bartenders were a delight! Every guest loved their energy and their dedication making mine and my husband's birthday a success. HOWEVER, DO NOT BOOK A PARTY HERE. The management has no contract and absolutely nothing in writing. All of the many conversations discussed was completely dismissed the night of the party. Nothing seemed organized or legitimate. The night of the party, we were told we had some time beforehand to decorate and set up, yet up until the start time, there were outsiders who were drinking at the bar. We weren't even given 15 mins before the start time to have the place to ourselves. The staff are not adequately paid for their service and it was expected of me to pay their night salary. We gave a generous tip but felt like it wasn't enough once I found out the truth. The manager did not stay the 4 hours I rented out the space either. My family members were constantly telling outside patrons to leave (even though there was a sign outside saying private party). Once the manager was called WAY after the party ended to settle some issues, she was bothered to receive the call and was going against all of the agreements we had discussed weeks before. The end of the night was embarrassing to say the least and it was a very weird way to end our birthday celebration. PS: It is not cheap to rent and have an open bar party here, so I guess I expected the manager to act more professional.

Their communication throughout the months leading up to the event made planning effortless, and the day of the event was absolutely seamless.
