Ashley's Lingerie & Swimwear — Attraction in Town of Amherst

Blum’s has an incredible selection of hard-to-find bra sizes. The shop is clean, well-organized, and centrally located in the quaint Town of Williamsville.

Unfortunately, the main deterrent to shopping here is the staff - which is so unpleasant it outweighs the pros listed above. When shopping for intimate apparel, I appreciate a warm, welcoming atmosphere. On the 2 occasions I have personally visited Blum’s, the staff was cold and unfriendly. I decided that shopping online (even with the hassles inherent to online shopping, like returning and re-ordering merchandise until you get the right size) was a better experience.

My feelings were confirmed when my sister recently visited Blum’s, which is situated across the street from a well reputed day spa. My sister parked at Blum’s, expecting to visit both establishments, and was promptly confronted by a Blum’s staff member. My sister was shouted at and told that if she parked in the Blum’s lot, her car would be towed. Despite my sister explaining that she was only checking her son in at the salon and would be shopping at Blum’s while he got his hair cut across the street, the Blum’s staff member persisted in threatening my sister. You can imagine how quickly she re-considered giving her patronage to Blum’s after such an arresting tango with the staff.

In speaking to other women friends, their experiences have been similar insofar as, Blum’s doesn’t seem to actually want you there. They work hard to scare potential customers away by screaming at them in the parking lot, and if you make it past the front door, it’s such an awkwardly icy and tense experience inside that I’d much rather...

Today was my first time to visit this store. I am a hard to fit size in lingerie. Walked in looking for a swimsuit, knowing what I wanted but not sure I could find it. I was greeted promptly by an employee. I took a chance and told her my size and what I wanted. She asked a few questions, then started pulling items. She helped me adjust suits to fit, stayed with me until I had tried on every one. She was patient and professional. She recognized which suits were not right and worked to sell me what I wanted. No pressure, just expert service. I came out of the dressing room after changing back into my own clothing, and my husband told me she had gone to lunch. I had no idea while I was making my selection that she was in any kind of a hurry. This will be my new lingerie shop.

Disclaimer: For ladies who wear "average" sizes, you may be concerned about price. In general, you will probably spend more in this store. (I did see a sale on bras for $20, though, so they may run good sales.) For me, I cannot consider price. I am just happy to find something that fits.

If you are after a great shopping experience or have a difficult to fit size, DEFINITELY try this shop. If not, try it anyway. It just might change the way you think about undergarments.

Just tried to exchange my bra for a different bra (not a refund). It was a birthday gift from my mother. She bought it on Nov 3rd because my sister's birthday was the 20th, we were celebrating on the 14th and by the time I received my gift on the 30th and wore the bra to see if it fit the 30 day mark had passed that they wrote on my mother's receipt. So they refused the exchange! I wore it once and they said if it had the tags still it would have been different. I needed to wear it for a little bit to realize the sides rolled and the right wire area was digging into my breast. My mother has been buying us two Bras a year from Blum's but now we won't be anymore. The sad thing is that the 30 day mark was 6 days ago... not 10 not 20, 6! I couldn't get to the store after I received it on the 30th and wore I for the first time on the 2nd! Today the 9th is the first day I am able to get out here. Not happy at all. I just gave them the bra because I wasn't going to wear it anyways so maybe they can make double the profit. Update: found my tag in the garbage. Hopefully the owner will reach out and except my exchange now? My receipt and bra are at the store because I left...
