I worked here and unfortunately had a very negative experience. During my shift, a customer became hostile and verbally abusive over a simple misunderstanding with a product. Despite trying to stay calm and explain the situation, I was called derogatory names. I stood up for myself, as I believe it’s important not to tolerate disrespect. However, instead of backing me up, my manager threatened to call the cops on me, even though I did nothing illegal. It felt like the company prioritized the customer’s behavior over the well-being of their employee, which is incredibly disappointing.
In my opinion, workplaces should focus on creating a supportive and respectful environment for both employees and customers. It’s essential for management to handle conflict fairly and stand up for their team when needed. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling unsupported, and I don’t believe this is a healthy...
Read moreThis is one of the better tops I have been to in Buffalo. I like the look of the store. I hate the pricing games. The mark up to mark down nonsense that is designed to confuse shoppers. 5 for $10, (2 dollars per item) which is the same as the competition down the road. But we’re going to slap a sale sign on the product and tell you we’re doing you a favor. Or we’re going to mark up a $4 dollar item to $8 and tell you it’s buy one get one free. We’re also going to mail out an ad that says buy X for X which seems like a great deal on paper but we’re going to intentionally not put the price on that ad so you waist the gas to come to store only to find out we’re trying to scam you. My advice bring your calculator and pay attention to the unit/volume prices not the...

I also run a bunch of community outreach programs for my church (St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Williamsville). Last September, along with four other Lutheran churches, we ran a baby supply drive to support Harvest House. This organization is located on Buffalo’s east side and provides a big range of services, one of which is children’s supplies. I made just one call to Tops and that got the ball rolling. I was overwhelmed by their generosity. They really care about the community.
One of the photos is Boy Scout Troop #92, one of the scout leaders was my Tops contact. He...
