On September 1, 2019 purchased a new hot tub at Backyard Masters. The hot tub was worth $ 16,193.00 dollars according to the specifications that the seller gave us, we purchased an new Artesian Elite Spa Pelican Bay. I payed cash via personal check. On September 13, 2019 the delivery arrived. When they opened it, we could verify that it had a large amount of water inside the hot tube and it was not the same hot tub model that we had bought, the one we saw at the store had a stereo and speakers, the one we received did not. In addition, they did not give me any of the accessories only the cover and according to the contract there were several accessories including the stairs, a care kit, etc. Immediately my son contacted Mr. Dean Jr., the person who sold us the hot tub. After several days of conversations, on September 20, 2019 Dean gave us a credit for the sum of 350 dollars and other accessories which I accepted in order to avoid getting into legal conflicts, and because I urgently need it because of my health conditions. On September 26, 2019, a technician from a electric company arrived at my home to install the hot tub, when he uncovered the hot tub cabinet he found and informed me that in several parts especially in the pumps there was a lot of rust, so I asked the technician if that was normal but he replied that he had never seen anything like this in a new equipment, that this was possibly used and immersed in salt water for a large amount of time, this would explain the large amount of oxide. So again with my son we contacted Mr. Dean Jr. who told us that it was normal since the manufacturing company tested it, but according to the technician the oxide is exaggerated to be only from a test. For what I request, my money is returned and the equipment is removed from my property. Dean took several days of messaging us on and off and said thay on October 24, 2019 all the oxidized parts would changed and he swore that the hot tube is completely new. So far I have not been able to find any parts that certify that this hot tube was built in 2019, I could only find parts of 2017 and 2018. I couldn’t find the part number of the hot tub that we bought either In good faith and believing in the honesty and seriousness of this person I wanted to continue doing other business with them agreeing to the parts replacements. However they did not meet the dates indicated to start another job for which I was going to hire them, I decided to do it with another company at a higher price. Since I couldn’t wait any longer, my son let him know that I was going to do my other jobs without his services, I also indicated that if on October 24 we did not fix the problem of the hot tub replacement parts, we want to get our money back and have their hot tub removed from our property, since I underwent another surgery and I really need to continue with my therapies. On October 24, 2019 around 12:00 noon, my son contacted Mr. Dean Jr. to ask, why hadn't the technicians arrived? to which he replied that no one was going to come home to fix the hot tub, that simply that date was tentative, so we told them that we no longer want to continue with the business since they have tricked us and lied several times. They were told that at that time I was on my way to the office to talk in person, Mr. Dean Jr. called me on the phone trying to explain, but I told him that I do not accept explanations that I simply want my money back. Minutes later I received a text from him telling me that he will not be in the office, to come the next day. I still went to the store. I went with my wife to the Backyard Masters office and Mr. Dean Jr. was there, which was another lie from him. We didn’t even think to consider if it was possible to afford or to even think of asking about buying a new pool all up to date & modern until Dean Jr asked questions about our pool & realized how old if really was & the cost of maintaining it but we’ve had it this long because as Dean explained Its a Dough Boy Above Ground & Dean said “well it’s a Dough Boy Pool the best of the best in Above Ground pools for ever . So Dean Salvani Jr educated us on the product & why it was worth buying a new pool larger then our older one & just on the value we’d be saving from a 20 year newer & larger oval Dough Boy Above ground pool which when he showed us the comparison of payments we make today and for what we just squander without thinking on our families cell phone plan which we pay for ever opposed to doing a 60 month financing with not just the pool for 60 months but we added so much more after realizing what we waste our money on which is insane if you think about it we ended up with the pool a wicker weather patio set, a cast aluminum set & also got a brand new hot tub which we had no idea we could even think about affording.
All together with all our 8 phone / devices family plan we have a new pool , hot tub 2 top of the line patio sets a BBQ with 20% down & could’ve rolled it all into the payment all for close to what my entire family mobile phone plan costs monthly which includes all the iPhones newest models the apple-watches and the best GB Storage etc etc then all my entire family’s iPhone mobile plan package which guess what we’ll be paying for life which is totally insane if we all think about it.
Backyard Masters has the best product, knowledge, staff & Wow presentation its hard not to appreciate just walking in their .
Pool , Patio, Gazebo, Inground pools above ground pools semi in ground pools hot tubs bbq islands now interior furniture this place is not going anywhere or most of kind Island would be stuck with the old usual suspects .
Thanks Dean & Maria Salvani with the Hot tub & pool & Jr’s knowledge on just talking to me which made logical sense without a doubt and so glad we spoke to him because he put things into perspective & we would’ve considered buying anything but meeting all the staff which is very family oriented btw we met Elise & ISherrie who were so helpful & cheerful but I guess it’s easy when your buying fun but even without that they were all so genuinely kind & the knowledge was just incredible everywhere like on the patio furniture which is all custom ordered & you cant find anywhere else which we learned so much we were blown away.
Also thank you Cherish for all your assistance & time guiding us around which made the entire experience amazing & now feel like we’re now part of the family at Backyard Masters aa were relaxing in our hot tub right now :) Truly everyone was so happy and helpful were recommending anyone to go to backyard Masters just so they can say “Wow” when they call us , you mist go into the showroom to get that effect so stop by & you’ll...
   Read moreWe went to Backyard Masters right after Memorial day weekend when shopping for a semi-inground pool. they were the cheapest and you definitely get what you pay for. Dean Jr was do friendly and nice when we were there to buy the pool (I guess to close the sale). Once we left the store and had given them our money it all went downhill. We were told we would have the install the last week of June but it took nearly a week for anyone to call us and actually set it up and we didn't get an install date until the 2nd week of July. They were TWO hours late to deliver the pool and my husband couldn't even get in touch with anyone at the store because they weren't open yet. When they finally showed up we were missing our ladder, chemical O, solar cover,sand and weights. They charged us more for the pool than we have quoted and signed for (we disputed with the CC company). The install was $500 more than what Dean quoted us (he even wrote it down. The installer was great but we noticed the lining seemed off and our pool was a little crooked. Installed assured us it's no big deal. When we called to get our ladder THEY DIDN'T BELIEVE US and actually called the installer to verify it wasn't in any of the boxes. It took almost 3 weeks of calling them to finally GET a ladder (it's not even the right one but I needed something to get in and out of the pool). My husband had to just show up at the store and they grabbed whatever ladder they could find (ours was on "backorder" along with the chemical O & solar cover which were mysteriously back in stock when he showed up). Now it's the end of the season and our filter just died and our pool has a huge indent in the bottom. We had to drain the ENTIRE pool so the installer can come fix the pool Tuesday. my husband spoke to Luke over the phone who told us to bring in the filter for a warranty exchange. Of course when showed up today he had just left. Dean was there and gave us an attitude ("who authorized this?) and didn't even remember us; they acted like we broke the brand new filter on purpose! After finally getting an exchange my husband grabbed our winter cover (which was on "backorder") off the shelf and we got the hell out. I'm so glad to be done with these people.
Update - they were scheduled to come close our pool tomorrow (9/26). My husband called to confirm the time today (9/25) and was told "with all due respect, after the review your wife left we thought it was best we go our separate ways." So... they were just NOT GOING TO SHOW UP TOMORROW WITHOUT CALLING FIRST! Obviously they have SEEN how unhappy we are and instead of reaching out to resolve it or mend the relationship this is what they have...
