It’s been approximately two weeks since I’ve heard from anyone regarding my situation at planet fitness in West Babylon. A few weeks ago the leg press in the front of the gym failed on me. As I just finished my first set, I was about to do my second when the hydraulic in the back where I lay, my back randomly broke, and the weight of 315 pounds basically landed on my chest. When the altercation had happened, I went to the front desk and voiced my concern. The manager was the one who took the description of the incident, but did not follow up with a report or basic human decency to ask me if I was OK instead, she proceeded to talk to the person that was behind me because they lost their wallet. After I had left and called a planet fitness number and filed a report which they said I would get contacted within 3 to 5 business days. I followed up after seven days a no contact. Now it’s been approximately two weeks and nobody’s contacted me back after I called the number to file a report. I went to city MD within five minutes. I found out that I had a crushed knee and issues with my back and feet because of my disability. I’m more concerned about the fact that this was dismissed instead of following up on it the way that it was supposed to especially when I’ve paid for more than five years. I’m highly dissatisfied with how the situation was handled and obviously because everything needs to be taken a social media for something to hear and post it because it’s been approximately two weeks and nobody’s asked me if I was ok. Read moreWhen I walk through the doors at the Babylon facility, I’ve developed a friendly relationship with all those behind the desk, Rodrigo, Louisa, and the rest of the crew. I greet them, and they greet me often with a brief chat, and a smile, making it enjoyable to go there. I like the fact that I never find it with too many people that it makes using any specific machine tiresome to wait my turn as there’s always something else I could do while waiting for a different station. It’s not that the facility is ever empty or lacking of people which adds to a certain social pleasure but that it’s not overcrowded and it’s a great environment for me to help me stay healthy, strong and iand being a 66 years old male Can bring out the old muscle memory and Make some gains, ha. I also deal with emotional issues as I was on search and rescue as a New York City paramedic when the twin towers were hit and working out is a great source for me to reduce anxiety and depression, so there in lies a great importance to my membership which happens to be covered by my insurance, which is generous and that I am very very thankful for. And of course thanking you that you give the opportunity to allow your company to be on board with my insurance company to allow me to do some thing that would be another tough notch in my budget. Read moreBlack Card Member , however definitely disappointed in ease is using the Black Card amenities. 1st experience was desk personnel never activated use of massage chair( needed to go back out to desk to inquire)
2nd experience was told after waiting 5 minutes to have it activated that “ well sometimes the WiFi crashes and desk can’t be held accountable to keep a watch because they have other duties ie. phone ringing”.
3rd experience was I checked in for an open time slot BUT was told “it was already taken by word of mouth and that I would have to wait or could choose something else” hmm sounds strange, I asked for a supervisor and no one was on site. Rodrigo only works M-F so out of luck. Inquired who is allocated in case of an emergency and again was told “ by Joe that basically if I had an issue to take it up with manager and he will take it to corporate because it would be awhile before corporate ever got back to me, and they were just doing their job” hmm again seems like PF in West Babylon could really care less about members. And BTW I do believe the people who reserved the massage chairs were friends of desk associates there for no need to upgrade to Black Card because friends get same services for free.
