This is a great place to visit at any time ..I remember coming here when I was a little girl on our school field trip ..that was a long time ago ..since then I've been back at least 10 other times if no to more ..it's as nice ride to get there nd you will definitely do spend a nice part of your day there .the area you go into to buy ticket usually has some kind of art exhibit this last time September 2021 they had a blown glass exhibit it might still be there the pieces were just remarkably beautiful ..they also had some watercolor s nd painting just wonderful to purchase ..I wish I could have bought a bunch ..so after that you'll walk over to the Carriage Museum and you will be very surprised how large it is nd the amount of carriages you'll see each one is nicer than the next ..the grounds are nice to walk nd then make sure you walk up to the museum ..this September the exhibit was Tiffany s lamps ..just amazing ..my family loves visiting here .there are plenty of places to eat in and around the area .. So cheap, and a great learning experience. There are multiple floors and rooms of different carriages, and sleds throughout history. One thing I really appreciated was the use of sound effects and visuals (fake fire, mannequins of humans and horses, the moving parts on a certain display, the sounds of horses with their neighs and clip clops, videos, and audio presentations).

Read moreSuch a huge assortment of horse-drawn carriages. Many are set in large diorama exhibits, with soundscapes. Press a button, listen to the ambient sound surrounding you, and it is fairly easy to be transported back in time.
Make sure you plan ahead, because the exhibit space (located directly behind the ticket office on Route 25 A) is used for some very in depth studies of local history. Photos, paintings, etchings, artifacts... I believe that these are mostly private collections that aren't shown anywhere else.
