Gymboree Play & Music, Nanuet — Attraction in Town of Clarkstown

We went here for a birthday party. The facility was very clean and nice. Had a great layout. Was good at accommodating a large number of adults who were there without kids in addition to all the parents and kids invited.

During the play time, the staff was energetic, organized, and well rehersed. They made each segment of the party feel special and not forced. The kids loved easing into the play with some circle time and songs. The free play was also semi guided, which was nice for less experienced parents. We then ended with bubbles and parachute, which is a great activity for all ages.

The party room for pizza and cake was very nice as well. The staff was incredibly helpful and organized here, too. They recognized the narrow space made it challenging for parents to move and get their own food, not to mention those parents who couldn't move as they were tending to their eating children, and they brought the food around as well as collected the trash.

We have been taking our 2-year-old daughter to Gymboree Play & Music in Nanuet, and unfortunately, our experience has been disappointing. One of the staff members, an older woman with white hair, handles the children roughly and speaks to them in a rude manner if they don’t want to participate in the activities. This approach causes kids to lose interest quickly, which defeats the purpose of the classes.

No child should be forced or grabbed to engage in activities. Patience and understanding are essential when working with young children, and sadly, this staff member lacks both. Additionally, considering the high cost of the classes and membership, we expected a more nurturing environment.

I sincerely hope management addresses this issue because the well-being of the children should always come first. A staff member who struggles with patience should not...

Ms. Chris and Ms. Judy are celebrities in our household! My daughter loves them both and looks forward to seeing them every week. Both instructors give good directions which help kids willingly participate. I appreciate Ms. Chris and Ms. Judy for their patience, my daughter can be a handful at times and they do so well with her!
