I went to Vogue 2 days ago for a balayage while home for my spring break from college. I've had good experiences here in the past such as prom and other special occasions. I made an appointment with a stylist who has years of experience in the field, and who I have personally seen once or twice in the past and therefore trusted. I recently turned 21 and I really wanted to try something new. I rarely ever get my hair done, maybe once or twice a year, so I justified spending about $300 on the balayage. I was a bit skeptical at first because 2 of my friends who had the same process done paid about $180 at their salons, which included a cut and blow out. Despite this, I still got it done and desperately wish that I hadn't. I think the picture speaks for itself. I left the salon with my hair wet because I didn't want to pay extra for a blow out and then realized about an hour later how awful and trashy I looked. I am honestly mortified every time that I look at myself in the mirror. My hair is literally black and orange! Granted, the salon owner did give me a refund when I came back in the next morning without much of an issue. However, my hair is so damaged because of how light it was dyed. That's not what I asked for at all. There are actually steaks of blonde toward the center of my hair. I'm going to have to wait at least 2 months to get my hair fixed and re-dyed black to give it some time to repair. Until then, I will be rocking a hat back at school everyday. Hopefully, I can find someone I trust to come near my hair again when I come home for the summer. WARNING - make sure your stylist has the proper experience to do the process you want! Expensive does not mean quality. I'm short a $60 tip and a head full of plain, black hair....
Read moreStay away if you’re looking for color correction. I went in with some roots the rest of my hair was already blonde. After the service was done, my roots were left blonde and white (two different colors from the rest of my hair) so my hair was all different colors and worse than when I walked in. They applied so many different things to try to fix it because it looked so bad and ultimately they applied so much of an orange gold toner and it left my whole head orange and muddy. I spent 400 dollars and went back the next day to see if they can fix it and all they offered was to try to wash it and see if some of the toner would wash out but it wasn’t guaranteed ( I had also already done that at home and it did not work ) they then told me my hair was in such bad condition they could not touch it but it was in bad condition because of them and all the things they did to try to “fix” their own mistake. I didn’t even get a full refund. I went to a different salon a week later and they literally did my hair with no problem and I was the blonde I wanted to be so they definitely lied. Also, the girl who gave me a blow out did not know how to blow out hair it was so poofy I’ve never experienced a blow...
