I came to this Ulta location for a haircut. It started by approaching the salon counter, being asked if I was seeing one of 2 women, neither of which sounded correct and explaining that the woman’s name was Khadizhat, and being given a patronizing look because I didn’t realize that this was what they were saying… It sounded like they said Heidi which clearly confused me.
Then I sat down for the haircut and Khadizhat was unfamiliar with the wolf cut that i was looking for. I explained and showed her and she still didn’t seem to fully get it. She went through and cut my hair, not cutting or styling my bangs the way I’d asked or shown her in the photos so I had to just wait til I got home to fix it… she asked if I liked volume in my hair and i said yes and rather than put product in my hair for volume, took me to an aisle with volume products. She also made a comment that made me question her skills that my hair was “a little wavy” in texture. My hair is fairly curly, not coiled but loose curls. With a blowout in June humidity it was curling around my face after leaving… if she couldn’t see the hair structure idk, worried me.
When we went to checkout she actually told the woman to change the price by $10- when i booked it clearly stated $47. She told the woman at checkout to make it $57, which to me was really unprofessional because I didn’t agree to that price, wasn’t told it would be more, and clearly booked on the premise of a $47 haircut…

How much to wash and cut and style my hair? 72 bucks? Bet! Jade was fantastic. Master level skill, excellent attention to detail, professional level tools including the Dyson dryer with diffuser that isn’t even on the market yet. And, here is the epiphany I had! The WHOLE store is at your service for WHATEVER products you want. Jade was able to really point me in the right direction about products, she stacked these curls like a BOSS, and was friendly and honest to boot. Listen, CurlFriends. The Salon at Ulta in Hartsdale is worth it! I’m sticking with Jade. I also was able to make an appointment for same day! 45 minutes later! And , I was not forced to leave my credit card and a deposit and sign in blood that If I don’t show they are going to charge me for An entire service that never happened. You curlies know what I mean. It’s quiet for that. I did the wet cut today because I needed a wash first and she plopped the curls to see where they fall before she did a superb cut that brought my hair back to life. She definitely need more training about racial profiling people ,I am 60 years old and it's Sad, me and my daughter spent 43.00 which will be returned ,I refuse to spend my money in ulta anymore, I definitely plan to put on Facebook, African American people need to BOYCOTT ULTA ,WE are dollar sign when we pay and theives I guess any other time.
