Brothers Aluminum — Attraction in Town of Hempstead

When my brother and I became the owners of my parent’s house, it was time to do some much needed upgrading and remodeling. I researched many home improvement companies and narrowed it down to three companies. While each company had much to offer, Brothers Aluminum stood out from all the rest in price and services. At my first meeting with Mike, he got to work right away by going through the house looking at, assessing, and taking pictures of everything on my list of work to be done that included electrical upgrade to 200 amp, two AC units/two ductless units, finishing an upstairs room, garage repairs, rebuild of front stoop, installation of nineteen windows, four doors/3 storm doors, new gutters/leaders/soffits/fascia/capping, installation of outside high hats and motion detector light, and complete gut and remodel of the bathroom. The same day I met with Mike, he emailed me detailed quotes for all the work that was to be done and answered my endless questions. Once my brother and I reviewed the quotes and information from the three companies, it was very clear that Brothers Aluminum was the best fit for us. Within days of signing the contract measurements were taken for the replacement windows and new doors. Mike was upfront about the timeline for start and completion of each project, and was always reachable by phone or text with a quick response time. Every project was completed without interruption of the crew leaving to go to another site. Each specialized crew had a foreman that was on site making sure the work was done properly and efficiently. Mike was always in contact with the foreman, and with me to make sure I was happy with the work that was being done, and I was. The crew arrived on time, were professional, polite, friendly, respectful of me and the property, protected and covered areas while working to prevent damage, communicated with me about what they were doing, answered my questions, worked very hard, and left the work area spotless before leaving for the day. I thank them all for the wonderful job they did making my house look as beautiful as it does. I cannot say enough about the positive experience I had with Mike, Brothers Aluminum and all the crews. Mike made this whole process as painless and stress free as he could by being knowledgeable about every facet of the project that was to be done and then explaining it to me. I knew what I liked and what I wanted, but was not that adept at putting it all together, and that’s where Mike shines! His eye for design, detail and understanding what I wanted is unmatched. He listened to my ideas, and offered suggestions for improving them when he felt they could be improved along with the reasons why. I’m glad I took his suggestions. Whatever needed to be done, Mike made it happen. He gets the job done the right way and quickly, and the same goes for resolving any issues. Mike is a really nice guy and has a great sense of humor. It was his great sense of humor that kept me laughing all the way through this remodeling journey from beginning to end. Scam Artists - I came to Brother's Aluminum via a member of my church who says he knew one of the owners. We were going to go with Home Depot but decided to go with BA when our sales person Ian advised they too offered 0 percent financing for 24 months. The salesperson told me there was no interest but I had to pay 4k more on the job since I was using their credit partners. I consented and they started the job late - 4 months after I was approved despite several promises. But that was nothing compared to what they did next. They shopped my social around and now I have 3 credit cards in my name: 10k @ 0% Wells Fargo 10.5k @ 0% Synchrony 32k @ 12% Greensky

These people maxed out Greensky and I'm now paying $300 in interest a month despite never being told about this 12% interest. I called the company and spoke to my salesrep, Ian, who advised me he told me verbally about the 12% but he has not given me the requested documentation to support his claim. Aside from never being told 32k @ 12% I asked Ian why would he max out Greensky and leave the others undebited and he didn't even remember one of the accounts existed. He even suggest that it was my fault. You go to these companies and you let your guard down when they start talking about the family and the kids but you've to be so careful with these crooks. Christine @ Greensky felt so sorry for me that she credited 4 months interest and advised that BA had the ability to fix this. Ian at BA advised that they would reach out to Greensky and then came back only to text me that they didn't want to take the risk of reallocating the funds.

They came to me (Carmine) multiple times to sign paperwork and I was compliant with them everytime before they got their money, now that they have their money I keep getting empty promises and the run around like I'm some homeless person outside their storefront. This company does not care about their customers. It will take nothing for them to remedy this and I even offerred to pay the addl fees. On Friday, I was told that the company would arrange a sit down with myself and Teddy, the owner, and that they would call me the next day to schedule this sit down and Tuesday is about to roll around with more empty promises. I'll admit they did good work, but I gave them a 1 star because of their lies, neglect of customer and...

When we moved into our home this past April, one of the first orders of business was to replace the windows and siding. A friend recommended Brothers Aluminum, and I put a call in to Mr. Mike V.

Right away Mike distinguished himself from other contractors with his excellent communication and promptness. I tend to go through things very thoroughly, but Mike understood where I was coming from and took the time to answer my questions. This is in stark contrast to the other 3 other contractors from whom I sought quotes. One person never showed, another person did the quote based on viewing my house on Google Earth(!) and the last was outlandishly expensive. Of the three quotes that I eventually did receive, Mike's quote from Brothers was the most reasonable by far. It's important to note here that I specified that the same products and materials were to be used in all of my quote requests.

Moving on to the work, the first thing I noticed was that I received more than a couple of visits prior to the job from Brothers Aluminum personnel to get measurements. They were always courteous and professional. I liked how they took the time to get their information correct. When I requested minor modifications to be made on the job, Mike promptly and happily got back to me and made sure that we were on the same page.

As to the actual work itself, all I can tell you is that we are so happy with the job! This was a big investment for us, but Mike and the Brothers Aluminum team were aware of this. They truly valued us as customers. They worked efficiently and with great skill to make sure that the windows and siding were installed properly. The siding looks so neat and clean. The windows are plumb and level and operate smoothly. They cleaned up well after the work was done and even gave us updates via photos. They treated us like they were truly grateful for our business, and worked hard to make sure that we were happy.

In an industry of fly-by-night operators, I give Brothers Aluminum my utmost recommendation. I also know that they stand by their work and in the unlikely event that an issue should arise, they will be there for you.
