Arthur J. Hendrickson Pool — Attraction in Town of Hempstead

If you live in the area it's a very relaxing place to be, especially if you like nature, there is a playground for kids that is fairly safe, it's gated, has benches for parents and has padded ground.

The pool area is clean but you can't enter without membership, which varies based on residency etc, the front desk is really nice and will help you figure out which documents you need.

It's a pokemon go hotspot, many kids, teens and kids at heart play in the afternoons.

It has a bike trail and a walking trail, a lake where you can watch the ducks and the memorial path is usually cool during sunny days if you're looking to be outside but...

zero stars ...I looked for local open pools near me , I'm in RVC, I found this location online, I called ahead and a staff told me that yes they were open to the public , I packed my car with my kids and once we got there , young unprofessional staff looked at us like we were crazy and told us only residents I said well it would have been nice if I was told over the phone . they didn't apologize and as we walked away they were laughing. it was upsetting for the kids I would have saved them the disappointment. The Incorated Village of Valley Stream makes the entrance to these pools, 3, very selective. The pools are only for our residents and two guests per adult member.

There is a food bar offering snacks, grilled items and with cold drinks. The staff are not the friendlest but do provide items purchased. The items are decently priced ( approximately $13 each person)

There is also a seniors section with chairs with shaded area and lounger area.

The entire facility is clean and large enough for safe swimming.
