Chicken Gyro Delicious — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

After years of eating from here I’m so disgusted and disappointed that I found a roach attached and cooked with my chicken. My husband orders from here 2 to 3 times per week and sometimes even multiple times a day. The prices have always been so low for good size portions but now I’m left wondering if that was the trade off. I can’t stop thinking about all the roaches we’ve must have eaten without knowing because I almost missed the roach attached to my chicken. When I called to let them know they have roaches the individual who answered was very apologetic and offered to remake the food but I told him unfortunately I don’t trust your kitchen anymore as you clearly have roaches. I don’t believe it’s possible to have just 1 roach so surely there is more. The manager refused to speak with me which was telling. I explained to the man that I was only calling as a curtesy to let them know they have roaches so they can correct the situation. The man said they take preemptive measures to ensure this doesn’t happen but clearly those measures did not work. It’s not like the roach crawled into the food after it was cooked, the roach was cooked with the chicken. It was burnt and stuck right to the side of the skewered chicken. It’s a very sad, disgusting, and disappointing situation. Unfortunately I can no longer recommend or support this...

This place freakin’ RULES! Everything, and I repeat EVERYTHING on the menu is amazing. I’ve had not one bad meal from this place. The gyros, chicken souvlaki gyros, ribs(best in town, no lie), chicken fingers, chicken nuggets, rotisserie chicken, rice, coleslaw, salads…last but not least the BURGERS! I can’t say enough good things about Chicken Delicious Everything is fresh, the delivery is always so fast, your food is piping hot. The ordering process by phone is great, the staff is so nice, personable & patient. I’ve asked a few times in the past if they would be so kind to not ring my doorbell upon delivery (b/c my dog will go nuts) which they did no problem. I don’t know if it’s because I order too often? Or that they have made a note on my phone #? But I don’t even need to ask anymore because the delivery folks just know to give me a call, rather than to ring my bell. I know that’s something so minimal but I appreciate them paying attention to those little details. I’ve ordered online a few times too and everything went smoothly, no different if you were to call. You get a lot of bang for your buck, each meal has large portions. They do not skimp out stuffing those gyros, the ribs are meaty & the burgers are huge! This place is a 10! This is probably by far one of the best gryo places around. Mostly for take out, they have limited seating inside and have since address side walk tables since the pandemic. The food here is excellent. I love their chicken or pork dinner dishes, but everything on their menu is good. The dinner dishes come with rice and salad or fries, depending on your preference. Everything is cooked to order, so waiting is necessary, but it is worth the wait. You can call ahead and place your order for faster pick up or opt for delivery. Street parking is available, but keep watch for the VS code enforcement or risk a ticket. I still drive back here to do take out, as its worth the trip.
