Lucky Beauty Supply Inc — Attraction in Town of Hempstead

I want to write this review, so people truly know the type of business that is ran here.

My mother has been a loyal Lucky’s customer since she moved to Long Island in the 90’s. Lucky’s has been a go to for my family, my friends, my friend’s families, and others across Long Island.

With that being said, shop over there at your own risk. My mother, who has been a loyal customer for over 20 years and probably contributed thousands of dollars of her hard earned money to this business received terrible treatment around August/September.

My mother told me, the lady behind the counter yelled at my (now elderly) mother with heart problems and belittled her so bad she does not want to step in there again. She was trying to return an item that she had bought no more than 10 minutes before she attempted to return it. Instead of speaking to her with kindness and as a customer, she spoke so nasty to my mother, my mother called me very upset and said she never wants to go back there again.

They already had a bad reputation when Fox Beauty Supply in the same shopping plaza made complaints of how Lucky’s tried to sabotage their business.

As a minority, it’s very disgusting to see my mother treated so poorly and yelled at so bad that she had to call me and let me know what was going on.

Being said, Ali and the other kind black people who work in the store are not the problem. They have always been kind and loving to us.

Clearly I can’t say the same for the Asian owners.

My mother and I will shop where we are respected. Do not shop here if you want to be disrespected, no matter if you shopped here for over 2 decades. They don’t care. They’re quick to take your money, but slow to respect you.

Fox Beauty is in the same shopping center and black owned. Feel Beauty is across the street. Explore your options before settling...

I have been going to this place for over 20 something years. The quality of their items is very good. Many stores have opened since then. I've tried them out but was not pleased. This store has lots of hair such as wigs, bundles, clip-on extensions, lace fronts, blow dryers, hair products from creams Oil shampoo the works, Combs brushes, hats, bags, purses, braiding hair, scissors, barrettes, scrunchies, nail products, makeup products, foot...

I used to give Lucky a 5 star, but them I learned how they teamed up with another beauty supply store and told their suppliers that they would boycott if they sold to Fox's, the black owned beauty supply in the same shopping center. Now they have to go out of their way, to the Burroughs, to get their merchandise for their store. Shameful behavior. Especially when I'm sure they make enough money already, to be trying to block another,...
