I struggled to give 3 stars. I wanted to give 5 stars because the store is HUGE, brightly lit, clean, ORGANIZED, efficient checkout process. Pretty much has anything you could possibly need, even though prices are a little on the high side, it is worth finding what you need to pay a few more $$$. People who appeared to be owners, very helpful & sufficiently courteous. I was trying to find a hair care product and the worker whose attention I caught could not speak enough English. HOWEVER, he was so caring that he caught the attention of a man who might have been one of the owners. Not only was he helpful & courteous, but he brought over the guy to show him where located & what item I needed. Now, I wanted to knock my rating down to 1 star, because of the woman who works with wigs. I had been to Feel Beauty shortly after they first opened in Baldwin. The same woman was helping a customer try on wigs. I was directed to her by another woman who said the other one knew more about wigs. When I asked her for a specific Sensational human blend wig, she pointed to their huge wig section & said they're all mixed in. (Side note: mist stores separate human blend & human hair wigs from synthetic wigs because a customer willing to spend upwards of $100 for a wig, wants what she wants! It makes no sense to troll through a mix of wigs!) Fast forward to my September 24, 2020 visit: They still have the same useless wig person, who obviously doesn't even have the pride to organize her "section"! This time, during Covid-19, as I approached the wig area (me, my husband & 2 year old son being held by my husband), she came down from the register, mumbled something then dashed away. When she returned, I realized that even though she had on a mask, she returned wearing a shield. Why, I don't know, since she never came within almost 10 feet of me! I was less specific this time, by only asking for human blend wigs. This offensive moron AGAIN told me "they're all mixed in". So I again asked i just have to go through the several aisles of wigs? She said yes. Here is where she has single handedly lost the rating for you & probably blew customer retention in me not returning... With NO other customers in sight to help, she continued to stand now a certain 10 feet from us, slightly moving to watch us!!! Instead of helping us to get the hell out of a potentially health dangerous environment! My husband was so turned off, he said "let's go". Me thinking he was annoyed at me wasting time, it was actually because instead of helping us, she looked like she was just surveilling us! So we moved 2 feet over to the register & paid for our cart full of products in excess of $100. Clearly a wig purchase would have doubled our expenditure! But the blatant ignorance of how to treat a customer & wreckless disregard of learning how to retain a customer caused the loss of sake. Maybe one customer doesn't matter to you, but then neither of us really knows how many customers experienced the same bad acts I experienced? So we left with our products, loaded up our Benz and left, probably never to return. Truly, it pains me to write this scalding review, especially against a woman of color, as myself. But this is the typical behavior which garners other people's opinion not to give people of color a fair opportunity. I'm sorry for your decision to keep someone useless on your payroll, regardless of race, color or...
Read moreConsumers and Buyers BEWARE!!! My grandmother and I went to this location like we regularly do to purchase her a new wig. Upon arrival we purchased a new wig cap because we know that’s the policy to try on wigs, there was a worker there who didn’t help us at all but had no problem following us EVERYWHERE and after about thirty minutes she comes up to us and says “just so you know you’ve reached your limit of wigs” at that point my grandmother had tried on a total of 5 wigs and a couple months ago when I purchased my wig from them they didn’t say there was a limit at all, so we decided to stop all together shopping around for a wig, as we’re walking away I hear the employee yell to her boss “I let them know” so I approached the boss/owner and asked him if this wig try on cut off policy was new because I didn’t have that before and he proceeds to tell me “no you had to stop because she didn’t have a new wig cap on” but like I stated earlier the new wig cap was bought upon arrival to try on the wigs. I explain to him that it was new and brought and he proceeded to roll his eyes and say he didn’t know and really just brushed me off like I was in the wrong, the other employee who was following us also never told him we purchased the wig cap but I also found it odd how she brought up a wig try on limit and he never did he just accused her of not following the wig cap policy which she did. Overall we were completely turned off, we were treated like 1. We were stealing based on the following around and 2. Accused of not following policies when we were, my grandmother is 70 years old there was no need for any of this and no apology for anything just rolling eyes and snide remarks. We will NEVER be returning. It’s really horrible how these shops are Asian owned but they treat the black shopper they appeal to like this especially...
Read moreokay so I am giving 2 let me explain why. When i walked in I was in awe of how big the store is and the very LARGE SELECTION and the cleanliness is amazing. The staff there are eager to help and explain any questions that you may have (5 stars). Then I walked over to the make up and started to look at the prices. The Maybelline fit me foundation that i purchased the day before for 5.49 was priced at 12 dollars. Now.i know the prices of these things can be priced different at different stores i expect to play that much it CVS drugstore or pharmacy but they give discounts and that's the price at ulta but you can also get a discount. Deduction NOW at ( 4 stars) Now lets talk about the pries of the wigs. I usually shop for wigs online. So i know which wigs I like and the prices for the wigs I purchase on the regular. When walking in the shop to do.a comparison of prices the wigs are priced at TRIPLE or even QUADRUPLE. For example the wigs in the BUTTA collection for the company Sennsationnel were priced at 80 or 90 dollars when the price range for these butta units are 38.99 and the highest one priced at 55.99 online. MAJOR DEDUCTION. (now.2 stars) Now you would think they would be in competition with the other 2 beauty supply stores right...
