Baldwin Pizza — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

Not enough stars to tell how great the experience was. All food was fresh. My brothers eat there twice a week and they say the food is ALWAYS GOOD, They have not been disappointed ever in years. The owner said they are his best customers. He was welcoming, grateful and joyful. I cannot eat cheese or bread, so I was a little skeptical, but they made exactly what I asked for and were happy to cater to my request for no raw onions and no cheese. Delicious. Also provided little cup of mayo and one of tomato sauce at my request. I was satisfied. Salad was fresh and so was sautéed spinach. I purchased a pizza pie 5/17/24. And it was horrible. I have been coming here for a couple months because I find it through a co worker and the pizza was amazing. I don't know who prepared the pie this Friday but it was low quality in taste and appearance. It was dry and had a very thin layer of cheese. I paid 15.00 for this pie. What a waste. If I didn't live so far I would have brought it back. I was very disappointed because they are usually on point. Makes me leary of purchasing anything else from them again. Good pizza but when I walked in at 8:40 to grab some slices to go, the open signs were still on and the door was unlocked and there were people still in the restaurant when I walked in they said they were closed, I looked up the time they close to make sure not to go when they were closed again and it said they closed at 9pm. I could see them turning me away for eating in, or making something new but I just wanted to choose from the slices they had left (which there were still pies on the counter). The person who said they were closed was very abrupt so it was off putting. Won’t be coming back...
