I am leaving this second review because I made two separate purchases from Huntington Watch—the first on July 11, 2025, and the second (an exchange for the same model after issues with the first) on July 15, 2025. My initial review detailed the problems with the first transaction; this follow-up is specifically to address my experience with the second purchase and to respond to Richard’s recent public reply, which misrepresented several key facts. This review also covers the aftermath—how the business handled my complaints, including threats and other questionable or illegal practices. This is not a duplicate or repeat of my original review, but a necessary clarification regarding two distinct transactions and the way the situation was managed by the business.
Here’s an accurate recitation of the facts:
Purchased a “New” Rolex I bought what was advertised as a brand new Rolex from your store—my first Rolex ever, as a young first-time buyer.
Coerced to Wear It Out Your staff pressured me to wear it out of the store—a known tactic among grey market dealers to claim “final sale.” As soon as I got to my car, I put it back in the box, and noticed a dirty box.
Immediate Issues Noticed When I got to the airbnb, I noticed tool marks and scratches on the case, under the dial and near the lugs, plus a stiff crown and a dirty box—clear evidence the watch was handled, resized, or even opened before I bought it. I documented everything with photos and videos.
Return/Exchange Timeline I bought the watch on a Friday (you’re closed on weekends), and due to my schedule and your limited hours, I drove 2.5+ hours back to your store to demand an exchange at the earliest possible time—Tuesday. The exchange was for the same exact model, not some upgrade or “switch.” They were listed under the same “stock” pictures.
Store Receipt & License At the store, I was made to sign a receipt with my driver’s license annexed, and was told it was “final sale.” Yet now you want the watch back, and threatened my family over my negative review.
No Written Demands for Payment I never made “written demands” for you to pay me to keep the watch. Let’s be clear: – After I posted my review, you called and texted me repeatedly, and someone associated with your store sent a threatening message to me and my family, referencing my name and address. – What I actually asked for was fair: I wanted you to cover my travel expenses and hotel costs after I had to drive back and forth and wasted a day in NY dealing with your dishonest business. That’s not “demanding money to keep the watch”—that’s you being held accountable for your own mess. After starting a Reddit thread and getting real advice from the watch community, I learned how to properly inspect the watch. That’s when I found the case back had marks, clearly showing it was opened before I bought it. That’s when I escalated the matter to the BBB and the NY Attorney General. 70,000 views in 48 hours and dozens of similar stories from your establishment.
Your Response to Complaints Instead of addressing a single concern about the condition of the watch or your business practices, you try to strong-arm people into silence and manipulate the review process.
Formal Complaints & Community Support My “written demands” were filed with the BBB and the NY Attorney General, NOT with your store. I started a Reddit thread that now has over 70,000 views, and dozens of others have shared nearly identical experiences—right down to the threats.
Refusal of Return With Fees/Conditions I refuse to take your “return offer” many say it comes with a restocking fee, me taking down my review, or accepting responsibility for your deceptive practices. I want what any reasonable buyer expects: the watch I paid for, in the condition it was advertised—brand new.

Read moreHuntington Watch continue to impress me with their outstanding customer service, patience, attention to detail, and a wealth of knowledge regarding all things watches and jewelry. Richard, Chris and co are stand up gentleman and really take the time to make sure every concern is addressed. When I was in a jam and needed to get a couple watches for my brothers at the signage, they made sure that I was able to get them before the Passover holiday.
Huntington Watch is a class act operation. Richard has taken the time to make sure customer service is paramount over everything besides maybe price- which speaks for itself. They are the best bargain in the business as it relates to quality and an amazing selection of time pieces that seem to be updated almost daily. Richard has done an amazing job essentially holding my hand throughout the process, never to get annoyed at too many questions or concerns.
As a customer who has dealt with them over 10 times over the last 5 years, I can definitively tell you that I will be a customer for life. Their watches (I am partial to Rolex Sport models but they carry a very diverse selection) are always as described and are of the highest quality and condition.
HW has made it possible for their customers to not have to sacrifice quality or add unnecessary risk to get a wonderful, relevant, clean, and mechanically flawless watch at a value. You can guarantee that whatever you buy from these guys will show up within a day or so FedEx overnight and it will be exactly what you thought you were buying.
They are totally transparent with their ads for their watches- it has become apparent to me their business model isn't to sell a customer a watch one time only for them to realize a year later they overpaid. Their model is they offer their customers pieces at such value that they keep coming back and value long term customer relationships over large one time margins. Richard has always made me feel very comfortable throughout the entire process of buying, trading, and selling.

Read moreWanted to take the time to write a very positive review for the Huntington Watch Company, and the agent Richard i worked with in purchasing my rolex sight unseen all the way across the country in California.
I spent over 30k, on my most expensive watch i have purchased thus far in my life, a 2021 Rolex solid 18k 126619LB. During the negotiation process Richard can be rather blunt on the phone. But i had his direct cell, he always took my call, and handled all my questions very promptly. I requested videos made for specific views, and new videos were made and sent to me quickly.
Once i decided i wanted to do this, i was able to negotiate the price down a little off the list price. The watch was well priced to begin with, thats why i called, and i appreciate how little margins there are on high end watches with full sets, in new condition, w 15 day returns, and a two year warranty, so any amount off, made me feel like i mattered, and getting my business for this watch, as well as future purchases, made me feel special for this very special purchase.
I went ahead and took plunge, wiring over 30k to them. Next business day i got watch as promised. Stunning, beautiful and as described, perfect new condition. Loved it.
Then, a day or two latter i had some buyers remorse. It was a lot of cash for a watch- maybe i had some fears of how tender i felt the white gold is, and a little just my OCD kicking in.
I called Richard, expressed my doubts, and just as advertised, he said send it back, no problem. There was no guilt, or shame, or trying to work me to keep it. He offered to send return label that day.
I think after our call knowing i could always send it back these last two weeks really put me at ease. It gave me time to let the watch settle from my head into my heart. I decided to keep it. Thank you!! I do truly love it. I will enjoy it for many years to come.
I will 100% reach out to Richard and Huntington Watch Company for my future watch...
