I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sur, an exquisite Argentine restaurant that left a lasting impression on me. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that truly made me feel at home. The combination of cozy lighting, rustic decor, and comfortable seating created an ambiance that was both relaxing and charming.
What truly set Sur apart was the exceptional authenticity of their Argentine cuisine. Each dish was a culinary delight, crafted with meticulous attention to detail. The flavors and aromas transported me to the streets of Buenos Aires, where I could almost hear the sizzle of succulent meats on the grill and taste the tangy chimichurri sauce. The menu boasted a wide variety of traditional Argentine dishes, from mouthwatering empanadas to tender asado and delectable milanesas. Each bite was a testament to the skill and passion of the chefs at Sur.
Accompanying the extraordinary cuisine were the superb drinks on offer. Their sangria was so good we had to order it twice.
While the atmosphere and cuisine were exceptional, what truly made my visit to Sur stand out were the servers. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about ensuring a memorable dining experience for every guest. Their warm smiles, friendly demeanor, and prompt service elevated the overall ambiance of the restaurant and made me feel like a valued patron. Their attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile exemplified the highest standards of hospitality.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Sur to anyone seeking an authentic Argentine dining experience. From the homely atmosphere and mouthwatering cuisine to the superb drinks and exceptional service, Sur truly excels in every aspect. Whether you are a connoisseur of Argentine cuisine or simply looking for a memorable night out, Sur is the perfect destination. I extend my sincere thanks to the entire Sur team for a delightful evening that will linger in my memory for years to come.

Read moreI took my wife to Surs on a Monday night for our anniversary. We usually go to The Clubhouse for this occasion, but they're closed on Mondays. That proved very unfortunate for us.
The shrimp appetizer was excellent, by far the best part of the meal. The bread was stale. For the entree, I ordered a steak platter for two, cooked medium. We had a hard time finding a piece we could enjoy. My wife wanted hers cooked a bit more, so we told the waiter. He seemed set back, but took a small plate already on the table and asked that she put the pieces on the plate. But he didn't wait, and resumed whatever he was doing. After 20 minutes, we hailed down a different waiter. This got our waiter's attention, but my wife had lost her appetite. We were never asked how the food was, and our iced tea glasses sat empty throughout the meal. The waiter seemed rushed when he brought the check. I was determined to rescue the lousy experience, so asked to see a dessert menu. After a long wait, he took our order. We then waited way too long for it to arrive, and alas, it was stale. He gave us spoons to eat it with, but we honestly needed a steak knife to saw thru the crust.
The prices at Surs aren't cheap, the steak wasn't good, and neither was the dessert. The waiter was a nice guy, but didn't attend to us. We won't even entertain the thought...

Paying attention to every detail and making you feel at home. He gives you all the time to make your choices and has answers for all your questions. We stayed there for 3 hours and we were never rushed. We had fried calamari, matambre con rusa. Dates wrapped in bacon (delicious) parrillada Tango, mashed potatoes, fries, shrimp in garlic sauce, veal and chicken cutlets Argentinian size (big). Panqueques con dulce de leche (exquisite), fried ice cream and 2 lava cakes. We ordered 3 mimosas, 2 glasses of sangria 1beer and cappuccinos. Suddenly Rodrigo showed up with Bailey's, on the house to make the celebration complete. After we asked for the check Maestro Juan came to the table to make sure that everything was right. As we were tasting the Bailey's we asked :whose birthday is next? After living in Long Island for 25 years we finally found the real argentinian restaurant. We're coming back in October. Thank you Rodrigo for your professionalism and charm. Thank you Maestro Juan for being perfect, my kids and me are your new fans. (And we brought dinner home...
