I delayed writing this review because I never leave negative reviews and it was such an awful experience it actually gives me anxiety to remember it. We were there for my aunt's funeral and the front desk attendants and the manager made a sad occasion even worse. |First of all, they gave us a room with one bed even though I had booked a room with two beds as I was with my husband and two children. It took them at least 30 minutes to understand the issue and correct it. All night, the hotel was extremely loud and it was impossible to sleep.|The next day, we had to get to the funeral at 10. We were driving my sister there, too. She and my daughter returned from getting coffee at 9:30 and their room key had been deactivated. They went to the front desk who told them it worked and to try again. They went up and tried again and it didn't work. At this point, it was 9:50 and we had to get to the funeral. I told the woman at the front desk that they key didn't work and all of my sister's and my daughter's things were in the room but we didn't have time to go back up and unlock the room once the key was activated because we would be late for the funeral. This was my aunt/godmother's funeral and I didn't want to be late. I asked if we would be charged for another day if they didn't get their things out of the room before the funeral and they said, "How long will the funeral be?" I said that I had no idea how long the funeral was, and they said they would charge my sister for another day. I said, yes, but we have to get to the funeral, we can't be late. She repeated they would charge for another day and I requested that she get her manager. I told her manager the situation and her manager asked, "How long will the funeral be?" Again, I said I had no way of knowing but we would come right back after the funeral and get their things. They said they would charge us for another day regardless. I asked if they could talk to the cleaners and see if they could save that room for last to allow us to get back on time. She said she wouldn't because they do their own thing. I said, "You never talk to the cleaners?" She said, "I talk to them all the time." I said, "Why can't you talk to them now?" and she didn't answer. To avoid a charge, my sister ran up with the key they said had been reactivated and the manager came with her. The key still didn't work, and the manager said that must mean someone was in the room, which makes no sense. Eventually, the manager used her key, went in with my sister, saw that there was no one else there and that there was lot to pack in less than a minute, and ran out without saying a word to my sister. Their behavior was at best unhelpful and unsympathetic, and at worst, vile, disgusting and inhuman. It caused us more stress on a difficult day and was the worst customer experience I...

Read moreGreat location, clean, and lovely (new?) hotel. Janeth was the front desk representative and checked me in. She is very kind, thanked me for my Daimond status, and was quick/efficient. Janeth is one of the highlights of the property, please keep her around. Janeth deserves very high praise for her pleasant, professional demeanor and sincerity.
A few issues with the stay which is the reason for the score. Room service is by request for a multiple night stay. That's perfectly fine, but the only sinage indicating that was not in a conspicuous place for someone that has trouble seeing. I would suggest a flyer placed on top of the sheets like some other hotels do, or a little sign next to the bed. Asked for new towels, and a refill on the Shampoo/Conditioner in the room my second day. I was only given towels. The Shampoo and Conditioner pumps were completely empty, and at 15 ounces per bottle I don't understand why they were completely empty. But housekeeping had no problem knocking on my door FIVE times between 9am and checkout. I also asked for a late checkout and was denied immediately. The representative on the phone seemed bothered.
The complimentary breakfast is from 6-10. I went in around 9:30 towards the tail end of the breakfast. Nothing much was left nor being refilled. I did manage to get a biscuit and a cup of coffee. The coffee was not refilled at any point either. I did not attend the breakfast again, which is a major point of staying at the Hampton Inn for myself is the convenience of getting breakfast and a few cups of coffee. Very disappointed. I will say the breakfast area was very clean though! So that was nice.
Those are the major problems with the stay. I should have stayed elsewhere. The convenience of the location alone was not worth the inflated price for the weekend. It's a shame the property is beautiful, but the overall vibe from the staff and management are indifferent and don't really seem to care. Attention to detail is nice, but not expected and sometimes better than being checked up upon constantly but can't even get shampoo or conditioner here. At nearly $600 for 2 nights, this Hampton Inn could have done better. Stay elsewhere even if you have to drive, you...
