I want to love this place I love bbq and southern food. I haven’t been here in a while so I thought I’d stop by give it another try when they opened for a late lunch. First off, it’s very dark in there should be lighter you can barely see walking up to order as this place is cafeteria style, you walk up see the food and order from the people working the station but you go to your seat with a number than a server appears for drink orders and delivers your food. So I was dying for good brisket I asked at the station if it was juicy because last time I found it dry, they said it’s very good order it more fatty vs. lean. So I do.. I ordered collard greens, corn bread and Mac n cheese. I get the order and the brisket is an extremely small portion for the price and quality it’s not fatty it’s sorta nervy ok not great but edible eating around it. The brisket was disappointing small small portion semi dry didn’t feel fresh.. I added bbq sauce and ate it I was starving! I notice no Mac n cheese but baked beans I tell the waiter he brings it over and it’s amazing. The collard greens I always loved..this time a no go has a lot of heat & spice. Recipe change? I call the server over a really polite amazing guy.👍🏼 I say this is spicy he said they add andouille sausage in it supposed to be sweet n spice little bite but this was not a bite of spice. Having reflux and stomach issues I am not taking a chance, he spoke to a manager and took it back. It was a small cup they should have the authority to do it without manager approval but ok..they let me keep it I tasted it seemed very tomato ketchup paste like. I didn’t eat it. The corn bread is huge, enough for 3 ppl it’s a loaf I didn’t know wish someone would have mentioned this when I ordered. There was honey drizzled all over it. Corn bread was very dry on outside not crispy.. dry and inside somewhat moist so I made a mess of this loaf thing trying to get moist pieces but it just lacked flavor.
This place has sooo much potential I do not know how there are so many good reviews perhaps the big bar the drinking lol or maybe because they are the only bbq around the Huntington area even neighboring towns no bbq but from the set up to the atmosphere to the food it’s not great bbq it’s just ok. They are opening a Morgan’s bbq Brooklyn restaurant on 110 by the mall soon. I am looking forward to it. Sorry but you guys need to step it up. With tip I paid $43 better spent on another place in the area I feel like I paid for a cup of Mac n cheese. If the owner sees this let me know if this is the...
Read moreI found this place completely by accident. I was headed to a store across the street when the incredible smell of BBQ hit me like a wave. Just like in the old cartoons, I practically floated off my feet, nose in the air, following the aroma across the road. I had no choice but to go in.
The interior strikes a great balance, it has that cozy, worn-in, old school vibe (in the best way), but it’s also clean, modern, and welcoming. When I walked in, I wasn’t sure where to order since there’s no hostess podium near the front door. I ended up wandering through half the restaurant before a bartender kindly directed me to the counter in the back. It’s totally possible there was a sign and I just missed it, but if there isn’t, one would definitely help first timers like me.
Now, the food. We ordered brisket, pulled chicken, green beans, mac & cheese, and cornbread, and everything was absolute GAS. The brisket was incredibly tender, the pulled chicken surprisingly juicy, and all the sides were flavorful and comforting. The mac was creamy and rich, the green beans well seasoned, and the cornbread had the perfect texture and sweetness. We also tried a couple cocktails (fantastic) and took home a massive portion of peach cobbler.
I also appreciated the selection of sauces at the table, the smoky BBQ sauce was my personal favorite. Portion sizes were generous, and pricing was very reasonable for the quality.
Every staff member we interacted with was kind, helpful, and welcoming. The woman at the counter walked us through the ordering process, the bartender made killer drinks, and our waitress was attentive without being overbearing.
All in all, it was a fantastic experience. Great food, great people, great atmosphere. We’ll...

Hell to the yeah! Heading back from the Hamptons and the fam wanted bbq to end our awesome night and as we coasted along 495, this spot was enroute towards our final destination, had the eat in and outside patio option and also open late on a Sunday, so triple brownies score there!
Staff was really nice from the host to our waitress and seating inside and out was ample and apart so it was comfortable and safe. We placed our order with the host and then given a number to bring to our table where our waitress took our drinks order and then our food was brought out to us.
My dinner peeps gave everything 2 thumbs up, 5 stars and then some. Ordered the Cheeseburger that came with smoked gouda cheese melted on top, the pulled ribs, the smoked brisket, and a smoked half chicken with fries, mashed sweet potatoes, mac and cheese, house-made veggie pickles and corn bread for the sides. Loved the fatty marbling on the brisket, the chicken was not dry at all, the smoked gouda worked well on the burger and the pulled pork had a nice sweet and spicy kick to it. The sides were very good but wished the candied pecans were a tad sweeter and crunchier since the sweet potato's natural sweetness wasn't present. They also served up a variety of bbq sauces on the side and the only one that was a bit disappointing was the Carolina sauce... They got the vinegar part right but that's all you tasted...
A bit aways from the main highways but totally worth the detour! Will definitely be...
