Huntington Public Library — Attraction in Town of Huntington

The average clientele (adults) don’t understand that libraries are generally quite places and whispering is the appropriate volume to talk. Many people talk as loud as they please and when confronted or stared at, they just get louder. Like, Seriously? Are you that petty that you can’t just be quiet and polite in a library.

Further, people don’t understand that libraries aren’t places to let your children run around and scream. God forbid you have to parent your child and teach them to be quiet.

Maybe obnoxious reminder signs would help, since people don’t have common courtesy anymore.

This library is incredible in how much it offers! I have been learning Russian through Rosetto Stone at no charge (aside from my well-spent tax dollars) through the library, and the best part is that I can access it from home! The programs that they offer to the public are fun and interesting and accessible to people of all ages. Staff is very nice. The facility is very clean. I always hang out at the table in the center and search for jobs. Still nothing. Finding a job has been difficult. They continue to rearrange book locations, not sure why. I haven't seen anyone actually take books out. It does attract every type of person for sure. Nice to have a place to just hang...
