This was my first time attending Montauk salt cave in Huntington. I took my boyfriend for a normal session just to test the waters. If it's your first time it's $25!! We were helped by a woman named Joy. She was super awesome. She explained everything thoroughly to us and then helped us choose another session with reiki and Tibetan singing bowls ! She was so patient and informative and I really appreciate it. The place was super organized, clean, and well kept. Once you get in the room you lie down on a gravity chair and listen to mediation music. It's extremely relaxing and they say the salt is so good for you. The only issue I had was one guy started snoring and in order to get him to stop I had to toss a little salt from the ground at him But that got him to stop. As long as you don't got a snorer you have to wake it's amazing. I love this place and Joy was so fantastic and helpful. Definitely check this place out ! Remember ! If someone's snoring just asSALT them with salt if need be :P overall wonderful experience; beautiful place.
UPDATE: Went for a reiki healing session with Debra. We sat in the cave; she played the Tibetan singing bowls and then did reiki on us. The experience was absolutely fantastic. This was Extremely relaxing and Debra was so pleasant and kind. After the session she told us what signs or things she would see when performing reiki on us and she was spot on with literally everything she told us. 11/10 such a...
Read moreTook my husband yesterday as part of his birthday. The facility is clean and well maintained. Great and convenient to have parking in the back. Just so bummed that young woman in our session was on her phone almost the entire 45 minutes- even though we were told no cell phones. She even took pictures with her flash at the beginning and end. It made it hard to unwind and meditate with the glow of the cell phone, the constant fidgeting- she even started digging through her personal belongings- we are hearing keys jangling and change rattling, etc. I tried to patient and understanding and also prayed that my husband was still able to enjoy his experience. However afterwards the entire rest of the group in the cave with us were also bothered...... I was going to speak to the attendant afterwards, but of course the woman on her phone the entire time started chatting her up, asking about memberships, etc.🙄😤😱
Totally out of the business' control to a degree. Just such a shame that people can be so...
Read moreHad a nice relaxing time at the Salt Cave today. The rooms have zero gravity chairs and they give you a blanket. The twinkling lights on the ceiling create a soft glow in the room. Ocean sounds play while you can meditate. I went there because during the winter my skin gets very dry and I had a few eczema patches. They say the salt caves help with eczema due to its anti-bacterial properties, it is also supposed to help respiratory issues. My boyfriend had a sore throat so we figured we would try it out. We both came out feeling relaxed and will definitely go back. The only thing that was a little annoying was an introductory audio that played for about 2 minutes telling you about the history of the Salt Cave. I think it's fine on the first time you visit but I can't imagine having to listen to that every time. They say no cell phones for food or drink are allowed in the room so it's really...
