It’s places like this that you can’t really put the experience into words, you just have to feel it to understand. But nonetheless, I will try lol. I was visiting in the area to accompany my mom to her dentist appointment, and decided to explore in town a bit while I was waiting.. I came across this shop and I couldn’t have found a better place to spend my time. I could’ve spent all day just browsing through all the beautiful clothing, jewelry, trinkets, rugs, and accessories. It truly is such a special collection of items. But, I would’ve been just as happy hanging out there and talking with Karen, the worker who greeted me at the door when I first walked in someone I now consider a friend & am so excited to see next time I get back to this area! From the moment I walked in she greeted me with a big smile and open energy. She gave me the layout explaining what I could find and where, and was genuinely interested in making sure I experienced everything to the fullest. I didn’t just look around at items, I got the backstory of them {which are all woman owned or made - you got me there take my card RN!!} You could really tell how much she cared about the store and about creating a collaborative awesome environment, she kept everything 100% real and was totally honest about each piece if it wasn’t what I was looking for. Also, for the quality of the items I thought the prices were very reasonable {something I was a bit skeptical about before looking around because sometimes pieces like this can be marked up like crazy just because they can be eye roll no thank you lol.} Anyways, all in all this was truly such a special experience and I can’t wait to go back next time i’m around. Im a local business owner, and I have been a regular customer of Mia’s since it opened, I always loved taking my time in the store and in remembering the great Mia herself. I stopped in recently and showed some friends of mine the shop. They as newcomers had horrible customer service as did I. Unnecessary commentary with a horrible attitude “it’s from Tibet that’s why it costs so much” when my friends were having a private conversation discussing the price of a beautiful item they just couldn’t afford. Whoever was working has no knowledge of the items in the store. Additionally, the shop always used to be staged so beautifully and practically. Now Instead, the out of season clothing overcrowds the shop, and you leave delicate items on the edge of surfaces. my partner passed by and knocked the lid off an item this was followed by the employee giving another remark with attitude “it’s only Moroccan pottery..” shaming my boyfriend for it falling off the table. Sloppy, horrible way to speak to customers. This is the last time I try to bring Mia business I have always been an excellent supporter of Mia’s and I was unaware there was new management. I am so embarrassed for suggesting this store to my friends when we were treated that way. I bought a gorgeous Mid-Century Gold Vanity Mirror Tray and a beautiful Merlot Vintage Moroccan Rug. They have a great selection that makes it easy to find something special that fits your vibe. Trust me you won't be disappointed!

You won’t find anything like this in Ballston Spa; and it’s definitely NOT Walmart or Dollar General junk.
