We're new to Minocqua and brought our 5 year-old daughter to Torpy park for the first time on Saturday, May 1, 2021 and she loved it! Located off of highway 51 in downtown Minocqua near McDonald's, the park is close to everything in downtown Minocqua. The playground has swings,a merry-go-round, 2 parallel slides, a tunnel slide, a climbing wall, and all of the accessories a good climbing tower has. It also has a spongy, clean surface, which means no sand and dirt will cover your children, and little if any clean up required. There is also a smaller playground for tots, which is surrounded with gravel, which can be quite messy. There are multiple canopies equipped with picnic tables and grills, which are a nice touch. Not only that, but the park and playground are right next to a beautiful lake with a nice clean sand beach for swimming and sun bathing. Finally the park has a huge parking lot, which means you can park your vehicle without worrying about other vehicles being parked too close.

Up and coming park! They are still building it out but it's already a nice little spot. There's the mini beach with roped-off swimming area. There's plenty of grass and picnic tables for all your picnic beds. Also tennis courts and a nice playground. I haven't been on a playground in decades but it's got this nice rubbery ground that is slightly springy so you don't have to worry about your little ones getting hurt. Once the grass is fully laid and the construction stuff is gone it should be a great spot!

Torpy Park has been a favorite since I was a kid in the 80s! The updated playground is excellent with a toddler area and a bigger kid area that has the nice bouncy rubber padding on the ground, plus big play structure that has interesting features. However, the beach is also a hit, even just to play in the sand.

Torpy Park is now, and has been for generations, the go to place on Lake Minocqua for tourists and locals. Recent improvements to disabled access, pavilion, beach area, and children's playground, have really spruced the place up. Even the concession stand is open in the summers again. The special events held at the park are the highlight. Minocqua Antique & Classic Boat Show and Music Festival (Father's Day Weekend), Dragon Boat Races, Beef-a-Rama festivities, and several running events keep the park fun, yet accessible to all. Stop by and enjoy the views, the beach, and all the events. Plenty of room to...
