A Diamond in the North — Local services in Town of Minoqua

I was first drawn to go into this store due to their advertisement for permanent jewelry. The owner explained the process and placed an anklet on me. I was pleased with the process and given a guarantee that I could come in anytime for repair for free if needed. I am from out of town and over a couple months the anklet became loose and now snags on clothing and gets caught in my shoes. When I was back in town I stopped in excited to finally get this problem fixed. I was happy to see there was a sign posted outside still advertising the permanent jewelry. The owner was very rude and unprofessional and would not shorten the permanent jewelry because she stated I should have emailed her first. Since this was the first I was hearing about this I asked if she could accommodate me since I would be going out of town that day. I even offered to pay, but she refused to help me because that would make other customers want the jewelry as well. (Even though there was no one in the store.) I didn’t know more business in a small town shop was a bad thing, but apparently to this owner it is. I used to recommend this place but now I wouldn’t advise anyone to go here unless you want to waste your time, money, and be disappointed. Do not go here if you have a little girl and want to do permanent jewelry! My daughter has permanent bracelet that she has had for almost a year. They would not let her get one due to her age as they only do them on kids 13 and up. Super sad because it was a very cute store and probably would have bought multiple things there. But due to this I’m giving a bad review which I normally do not do. But don’t waste your time going here with your daughter. Drove into town to do this with my girl just to be turned away. Disappointing.

We were not given any other “options” on things to do with a young girl. Just told no we cannot do it and that’s it. Not great on customer service.

And again customer service was terrible. We weren’t told I’m sorry she cannot do it but here are some other options you guys can do. No one said it was for liable reasons. We were just told because she is growing she cannot get one. Even if she is growing and I wanted to spend the money on getting her one and it doesn’t fit her in 3 months then that’s money lost to me and money in your pocket. I do not expect it to last her for lifetime or years. I don’t know everything your store has to offer like shirts or charm bar because no one made the effort when we inquired about permanent jewelry. This boutique has some cute clothes/accessories, however, the owner was at the front desk on a computer the entire time. She did not acknowledge the customers shopping, which I found slightly unprofessional. Most walked in without a hello. I was really excited about this boutique as I found it on tiktok! As someone who worked retail for many years, I understand not wanting to be a pushy associate but it’s nice to at least create a welcoming environment.
