Read moreThe pool is nice, pretty big, there's a slide, a "Lazy River"; good for a family. Very nice for seniors. Staff is a huge problem. Bossy lifeguards. So many insane rules, such as "don't walk quickly, don't splash water in the pool, don't hold on the metal bar too long" and many others. You are allowed to eat in a small place, I ate there but because there was no room on the benches with the tables I sat to eat chips on the bench which had no table, a worker came to me and screamed "You are not allowed to eat here, and you are making a huge mess!" (There was one chip on my lap, which I was planning to throw it out anyway). Later, I wanted to go on the "Lazy River". I had 10 more minutes. I went on the float, and a worker told me it is closed and I need to come back in over 1 hour. I hated this place solely because of the horrible staff. I will not come back here. I am not in prison. I am paying $13 to enjoy the pool, not to be in prison. Anyone who hasn't been here might think that it is a minimum of protection for the kids, but whoever was here will admit it is just too much! Very...
Read moreFor what people pay in taxes here, residents should be able to access parks without paying a ridiculous amount of money for every little thing. Other towns offer free tennis courts. Great Neck makes you pay $24 to play for 1 day and $90 per person for a year round pass. $12 PER PERSON FOR A DAY. What, was I going to play tennis by myself? That money is wasted on paying some jerk to monitor the courts. I went to Allenwood on a Saturday morning when the courts were completely empty. Not allowed to play because I need to buy a pass even though no one else is there. I understand tennis courts need maintenance but the pass options are so expensive that it's not worth it for someone that wants to play occasionally...
