This one star is for the staff. They are mostly rude college kids who have no sense of responsibility and they don’t care about your enjoyment or safety at the pool. They just care if you’ve brought them trouble or caused them work. My child had a group swim lesson there and they cancelled the class last minute after the class started and the swim instructor just told the kids to go home. And so my 6 yr old daughter was allowed to leave the facility into the streets by herself. A stranger passing by in the car saw her and was kind enough to call me since my daughter memorized my phone number and that’s how I found her. When I went back to speak to the lifeguards about what happened, all I got was pointing fingers and a yelling match. How can they dismiss a class without making sure that each child is with an adult! They really need to hire better managers who is descent enough not to yell at the upsetting mother of a girl whom they just put in danger. Unbelievable! Even before this incident I never had any good experience talking to the people working there. They don’t seem to know what they are doing nor do they care. Come to the pool if you want, just pray you won’t ever need to cross path with the staff. As for the swim lessons,...
Read moreThe pool facilities are excellent. They are roomy, large, and overall great.
However, there are two main reasons that brought this review down to three stars. Number one is a policy that they have. If you are a new guest, Parkwood sports complex requires that you have a member of the pool scan you in. (with this limit being two.) My first time coming here, I had to ask strangers to scan me and my friends in; which was extremely frustrating. Second, there are shutdowns weekly. Some kid poops in the pool, the chlorine is malfunctioning, etc. Over the course of last summer, my friends and I had to leave Parkwood several times due to these shut downs.
Also, the snacks are...
Read moreGreat place. Lots of space. The complex does not enforce the rules very well. Infants in the big pool, adults only section, and many people arrive early and reserve seats in multiple locations, making it hard to find a spot at times. They have summer camp during the week. Don't expect any peace or quiet. It's not unusual for the pool to suddenly be cleared. They always say it's for maintenance, but it's pretty obvious they do not have enough life guards, so they occasionally shut down for an hour to give the staff a break. Overall, it is clean and well maintained. Staff is helpful. Concessions are a bit pricy, I paid $4.29 for a very good hot dog. Bottom line. Great...
