Port Salt Cave — Attraction in Town of North Hempstead

Port Salt Cave is my happy place. Back in January 2018, I read about it in the Port Washington News and was thrilled that the Cave was opening in our town. I was already a fan of Himalayan sea salt and couldn't wait to have this grander experience. It exceeded my expectations, so much so that I've been a weekly client for a year and a half already! Sue and Lori are ideal at welcoming everyone and making them feel right at home. They are warm and friendly, caring and concerned, and love to take an interest in you. Once you are in the Cave, seated in the amazing anti-gravity chair, you are transported to a place of tranquility. The effect of salt, sound and relaxation is so healing, refreshing and renewing! I love the Friday Reiki sessions which help even further with healing your body and mind. In addition to the Cave, there is wonderful little shop that has unique gifts for fun and healing. It's hard to resist picking up a little something for yourself or a friend! I love the location (you had me at Parking), the water right there, the beachy calming atmosphere and the “we’re here to serve you”, as I was wrapped up in blankets by the staff, in a comfy chair to inhale pure healing salt in a peaceful and beautiful new space. Like a 45 min vacation. So glad I went, was feeling off color, and needed to go to an event the next day. I’m certain the visit to Port Salt cave made the difference! I also bought a gorgeous salt orb lamp on site to rub the stress away, imbibe minerals, create a warm glow and raise the temporature of my hands during winter. I find fewer things in this world as restorative, healing and decompressing as going to the Port Salt Cave. My favorite is an infrared sauna and cave combo. Could not have a better system detox and health boosting two hours than a super-sauna-sweat followed by breathing in the medical grade salt air in the cave. When I bought a 10-pack for the sauna I knew I could get through the gloom of winter. I've had work, social and solo outings in the cave and every one is a salty-success!
