This is my second time taking my son to Safe-T Swim , the first time we went to the location in Westbury. The Westbury location needed some updates and cleaning but the instructors were Awesome, very hands on and involved in teaching( BTW we did the Baby and me) my son loved the classes and I enjoyed them as well. The overall quality was superior, I loved that the instructor would tell you and explain the exercises and would tell you what you will be learning next week. The class always ended with an interactive song which is very nice for the kids. The only reason i decided to change was because the Westbury location was farther my my house. My son is currently attending the New Hyde Park location, I was excited because we would be about 5 minutes away and when i first went in which was on April 1st I Loved the location very big, has private changers, much cleaner and they even have showers in the pool area! Unfortunetly It all went downhill from there. First it started with registration they didnt have me fill out any paperwork, they said do it later( went back after class they could find it they said do it next week) just went to the back to get ready for the class. The classesđđ were suppose to start at 11:30 and we couldn't get in until 11:36 because there was a previous class that was getting out, ok fine i understand classes can run late but that wasnt't the worst part. The instructors are some young kids that look like high school freshmen, they stay in the same spot the whole class don't interact with the parents or kids, they just say the exercise, use 1 child to demonstrate and than go off with their business talking to each other. This goes on the whole class, the most the kids do is 3 maybe 4 exercises. This our 2nd class there already and they have been the same exercises from the previous week very disappointing. They don't sing any goodbye songs just okay class is over we have to get out the next group is here. The class is suppose to end at 12 but by 11:55 we are already out of the pool. I would imagine for the money that we are paying we should have better instructors. There are probably a minimum of 15 kids thats about $1500 for 3 hours of class ( 6 sessions of 30 min) more like 20 minutes. Very unsatisfied with the Saf-t swim of new hyde park, will be looking for another facility that offers qualified instructors. If my review was just based on the facility alone without the staff I would...
Read moreI have never written a google review but really felt the need to write one for this horrible place. Do yourselves a favor and read the yelp reviews. I wish I did before sending my son here. I donât even know where to start. I signed my son in the group swim. It really was the worst thing ever. Very unorganized. They have a whole bunch of pot heads running the pool. Life guards on their phones or talking. They tried charging my friend a private lesson fee because the other kids in the group swim didnât show up. The kids running the pool are always confused on where the kids should be going. They once had an instructor drag my son in the pool causing him to choke on the water. Very inexperienced instructors. I had rosette ( one of the managers) put my son in for 2 makeup classes. I show up to the first makeup class and my son wasnât in the schedule. Very frustrating because I confirmed with rosette twice and she said he was in the schedule( She happened to take a personal day that day and Britney who is another manager wasnât helpful at all) Because the class that he was supposed to be in was full, they put my son in the b2 swim class. ( they for sure took him out to have new paying kids swim, but thatâs another topic) my son is 3 and very new to swim. He was obviously not ready for the next level and I told them that but they said he would be fine. Obviously not. Middle of the class started crying. It was too intense for him and he was scared. I tried a private class early on to see if it would be a good fit for us. They put us with another inexperienced instructor I think named David who pushed my son too hard and made him cry. the pool became such a negative experience for my son after that and after much bribing I was able to get him to try the group swim again the week after.
I can go on and on. Do not send your kids here if you love them. Really a gross and dangerous place. Should be called danger-swim!!! Stay away. Listen to all those negative reviews...
Read moreMy daughter has not had a consistent swim instructor since starting in August 2021, she goes weekly on Sundays for 30 minute lessons. Every week is a new kid teaching My child, the instructors are children themselves with no real swimming skill are teaching abilities. Just about every week I get a text message that my child's swim teacher called out, one week I received 3 text messages back to back, only to find out when I called that 3 of the instructors called out so they are canceling my child's lesson and this has happened multiple times. The instructors are either spaced out or chatting with each other. The pool is too crowded to even help children garner any real swimming skills but you guys take our money and really have no intention of teaching our children to swim. My daughter is on Level 3 and her teacher last week asked her if she ever received a ribbon for passing each level, which she has never received so she has never gotten an opportunity to ring the bell to show her achievement. My daughter should be swimming independently by now because this is not her first time taking swim lessons, she is 5 years old and has been in swim classes from infancy with Saf t Swim. Saf t Swim just takes your money without providing an actual service. My child is there to learn to swim not have a playdate in the water with a unskilled teenager. Reggie and Pram from what I have seen are the best and more focused instructors. I have seen a couple of good female instructors but my child can never get paired with them due to scheduling. I requested that Reggie be my child's instructor, she connected with him in the water and he challenged her swim skills, when he filled in for my child's instructor who was a no show, no call at the last minute while we were waiting poolside. But alas she can never get on his schedule even though I was told by the front desk staff that she would be placed on his schedule. I will be posting this on your social media...
