OK Asian Food Express — Restaurant in Town of North Hempstead

Had the lunchbox menu, very good!!! Tastes more homestyle cooking than commercialised Chinese food which is right up my alley, food gives similar vibes to chimama (in that it’s homely food cooked from the heart). Nothing similar in the area so these guys are sure to be a big hit once word gets around. Located in an obscure spot so easily missed and parking will get challenging once it becomes more popular. I believe the day’s dish variation changes but all four options we had were delicious on our visit, nothing left over and happy bellies. Highly recommend!!!! Discounts on cash payments (^ω^) great food and good prices, one of the best mapo tofu!!!...

Tried to charge us 50% more than the listed menu price after the fact. Not sure if shady or just poorly run, but steer clear either way.

EDIT: What the lovely owner seems to be not understanding is that the wildly different price was only caught by us. Who knows how many customers were overcharged without noticing in the past. Bit of a sad response from the owner,...

He said he was tired and wouldn’t serve customers anymore, turning away three mothers and five children! If he had simply said they were out of ingredients and done so politely, we wouldn’t have been this angry. But at 6:30, the chef was already too tired to serve customers? What is going on?
