Thank you for ruining my birthday, Target. I visited this location on October 1 and tried to redeem a $50 gift card at register five. It was late morning and the cashier took her fingernail to scratch off the foil on the back of the gift card and in doing so she damaged it so the access pin number is no longer visible. Great.
Although she was apologetic, when I detailed this with the manager, the manager told me that she could do nothing and that I needed to call the 800 number on the back of the card. Ok…when I called the 800 number on the back of the card they told me I would have to wait 7-10 business days for a new card. (!) a full week passed and I still didn’t get the gift card. I called back the 800 number and this is where it gets even more bizarre: They told me that the card had been redeemed and because I didn’t have a receipt for the purchase of the card they couldn’t help me either.
That day, I had found some really nice items in store and I was looking forward to taking it home. I had to leave it all there. It was really an unfortunate disappointing experience.
Just a poor experience overall with a do-nothing manager, a cashier not doing the right thing and customer service not helping the situation, either.
And I’m still out $50 with no resolution one week later.
Because this was all the cashiers mistake to begin with I feel strongly that the store could’ve at least issued me a store credit, especially considering that it was my birthday and I let them know this was...
Read moreMe and my sister came to this target yesterday night to pick up a few items and it was blatantly obvious that we were being followed by asset protection or whatever it’s called at Target. I use to work retail I know the deal. But following people around the store that you think are suspicious just because they’re wearing a jumpsuit is not it . Gee, I wonder if I was white with a jumpsuit on and a baseball hat would I have gotten followed? I came in the store, no purse on my person and picked up a red shopping cart. I asked one of the associates downstairs for help. Well I guess that’s suspicious activity! This makes customers especially black customers feel very uncomfortable—not every black person that’s wearing a jumpsuit is stealing. Quite frankly, the AP that was following us should’ve profiled himself because he looked more like the thief than we did. Also there was another girl that walked in at the same time guess why she didn’t get followed… This really sucks because we love target and we don’t live near a target, so whenever we’re in an area we go to target to get our favorite snacks. I shouldn’t feel uncomfortable in a place that I love and where I am spending money. I was gonna let it slide and not say anything, but I’m saying something. Do better!!! Maybe retrain that AP to not make it so painfully obvious that he’s following people maybe...
Read moreVisited this Target for the first time to do some after holiday returns. Associate at the return counter said lay everything on the counter for return, fine. Then I already had my return order barcode ready but she asked for me to open my target wallet barcode and I said I didn't know it worked that way. In a very condescending, passive aggressive tone, she said " ah see, you learn something new now". When it asked for my pass code, it couldn't remember it so I had to go back to the order barcode anyways... all that time could've been saved if she just scanned the barcode I already had open. She wanted to save time but in the end, wasted more time. She had alot of side comments as well which I felt extremely unnecessary. I understand holidays is a stressful time but you are in the customer service field and I did not project any attitude or walked up entitled anyway, so her attitude was unprofessional and uncalled for. I overheard another return cashier helping a lady return an item and made very obvious snarky comments like they are babysitting this return and it's taking a whole day, wasting their time and a visible annoyed look on their. The attitude at this Target is the worse I've seen...
