I spent a lot of time and did a lot of research into purchasing the wedding set for my wife and I. I wanted to make sure I understood what I was purchasing and also that it was worth what my hard earned money was buying. After making this purchase, I immediately purchased insurance. After insuring my wife wedding set and my wedding ring, the insurance company informed me that I needed to have an appraisal done every 3-4 years to keep my policy current. I initially thought this was a waste of time but after reading the fine print of the policy and also after reading some complaints from people about their insurers claims process, I decided that an appraisal of our wedding set was definitely needed. The next step was finding the "right" place to get an appraisal. I spoke to a few co-workers and a few close friends and got different opinions on where to get the appraisal done. I also did a google search and fortunately came across, The Jewelry Appraiser, Debòrah Villepigue located in Manhasset, NY. After reading the reviews online and reading about Debòrah credentials, I decided to give her a call and setup an appointment. I am so glad that I chose The Jewelry Appraiser for my appraisal. Debòrah is such a professional and is also very knowledgeable. She made me feel very comfortable from the moment I entered her office. Her Lab and her equipment are beautiful. Everything is right in front of you so that you can watch the whole process as it's being performed. I sat and watched the entire process as she did the appraisal for our pieces. Debòrah did her job but also kept me involved as she explained what she was doing, what she was looking for and the value of using a qualified, certified Appraiser. Everything was explained in detail and was explained in laymen's terms. After each piece was appraised, researched, weighed, and photographed, Deborah was also able to tell me exactly how much each piece was worth today. This is very important as this allows me to now insure my jewelry for the correct amount and I have expert documentation to assist with an insurance claim in the event of loss or theft. I was very happy to know that the jewelry that I purchased a few years ago has now increased in value by several thousand dollars. Debòrah complimented me on the Jewelry I purchased and also commented on how well a job the jeweler had performed in matching the diamonds, the placement of the stones and the overall quality of the diamonds. It was great hearing that I had made good choices and I also felt comfortable and confident in her Appraisal. I now have a better understanding of my Jewelry. Deborah is the real deal. She is not only friendly and makes your time with her fly by, she is SO knowledgeable. One of the things that I found to be really special about her is that you can tell she truly loves what she does. When I wasn’t learning about the piece that I brought to her, I was busy looking around at her beautiful office and her fancy equipment!

I brought Deborah a piece that I purchased from a lesser known jewelry retailer. I wasn’t sure of its’ value and if it was worth what I paid. When I came across The Jewelry Appraiser from an online search, she seemed like the perfect person to tell me whether or not I got ripped off.. And boy was I right!

She explained to me little details about my ring that I never would have thought to ask. When I asked her something, she was more than happy to answer and explain even further. If she started explaining something to me, and slipped into Jewelry lingo I wasn’t familiar with, I would ask her to clarify and she was never annoyed by it. She wanted me to learn about my piece and all of the details about it right along with her.

She told me where the diamonds in the ring came from. She checked the diamonds to make sure they were in securely. Her projections of color, clarity, and carat weight were right up to par with the certificate that came with the ring. She told me little things I would have never known but certainly found interesting.

What’s great about Deborah and the work that she does is that she puts in time and adds little touches that really make the experience memorable. When we were wrapping up, she even took the time to clean my ring and to show me how to do it. When I asked specifically about the type of paper towel she used to wipe it, she was even happy to tell me about that!

I loved everything about my visit. The office has a warm Native American decor which I felt provides a calm positive Aura to the visit with the extremely knowledgable Debórah. My fiancé and I walked into her office expecting her to just look at us take the ring inspect it, write us a report take the money, and send us home. Little did we know we were in for a lot more than we expected. With Deborah and her services, I must say you're not using just an appraiser. You've met your ( God willing ) life long Jewelery appraiser. I've never met someone who made me feel like they genuinely care about me and my Jewelery as much as I do until I met Deborah.

She took my fiancée ring and inspected it, took a forensic fingerprint of the diamond, and found some flaws in the ring itself (the setting not the diamond ) and right away she said " give me your Jewelery phone number this is unacceptable" she got on the phone and she told him that he has to change some things in the ring. The guy didn't even argue he just said "okay send them over and I'll have it taken care of this week", that's when I knew I was in the presence of greatness.

Her work speaks for itself. I mean she literally took my finances ring off her finger and looked into the band and told her " this ring has been worn for about 3.5 weeks" and both me and my fiancées jaws just dropped and hit the floor. She hit the nail on the head. And that's when I knew I was clearly in the hands of the BEST. Her advice doesn't stop at your diamond ring. But shes also very knowledgable when it comes to all Jewelery and how to wear Jewelery and what kind of Jewelery your skin can even handle.

OH, by the way ... That's Jewelery soap she carries is the real deal. We bought a bottle as we were leaving the visit.
