Horrible. We went to the Bayville scream house the first day⊠for their website, I get itâs a business where they do this for money but their website says SELLING OUT NOW! to pressure you to buy their stuff but we got there and there was almost NO ONE THERE. There was a total of like 4 people there no joke. Thatâs just scammy in itself and should be (if itâs not) illegal because itâs misleading. $70, there was some actors but it wasnât that scary. We were done with everything in an hour and the set up would have been cool if it had a bit more people. Bayville should re evaluate their business plan because I feel like no one goes bc theyâre so frugal and scammyâŠ. I donât even see how theyâre profiting it just seems the CEO just gave up and wants to scam the very few people that fall for their trap. Finally hereâs the kickerâ we were in the clown house and I was with myself and two guy friends and this black guy (skin tone irrelevant- not being racist. Just a description for the owner if they care), seemed very liberal. He SCREAMS at us and says something like âWere YOU GUYS MAKING FUN OF MY WORKER?!?!â As if he was about to like punch us in the face. Me and my two friends r white. We thought we were being targeted. I was like âHUH?!â At first because we literally didnât say anything rude. The. He goes like âYEAH YOU GUYS WERE TELLING HER TO MOVE OUT OF THE WAY???!â And I was like âAbsolutely notâ⊠and if Iâm being honest the SCARIEST part was THE FALSE ALLEGATION that we accused his worker⊠we thought that was apart of the plotâŠ. And not to be rude but respectfully theoretically even if we DID tell your worker to âmoveâ are you seriously going to act like a toddler and kick us out? We are in a HALLOWEEN SCREAM PARK! And sorry free speech. Even if we did. I felt we were targeted bc he seemed like the guy that would be like âall men are bad especially white folksâ but maybe I read the room wrong but either way was so disrespectful. Oh and also there was a pothead in the maze that we smelled marijuana before seeing him. My friend said something like âwe smelt you before seeing you youâre not scary!!â I donât think thereâs an age limit I wouldnât whine about the weed altho itâs not pleasant or professional but if youâre bringing younger kids there thatâs not appropriate. Overall a waste of money. They also charge you out of the rear for everything⊠you want a drink? $20 for alcohol probably. No food. Just a dead venue and no one there. Havenât been here in suchhh a long time but now I remember why no one comes here. I just gave them benefit of the doubt and hopes they would have changed but they havenât changed their practices for years. Just donât...
Read moreIf I could, I would give this place a zero star rating. Already in the beginning it was a mess. Before it opened there were barely any workers around for me to ask questions. Once it was 7pm none of the attractions were open yet, it wasnât until about 7:30 they started to open. Only 2 out of the 6 attractions were open at that time. For some reason, all the other attractions opened closer to 8:30. When I went inside the funhouse haunted house the person allowing people to come in let in almost every person on the fast pass line and the general admission line just kept on getting extremely long. Most haunted houses I have ever been to usually does like two groups for fast pass and then one group for normal admission so the lines can go decently fast. The workers were just rude and didnât care about the customers at all. When I went through this attraction there were about 3-4 actors there that didnât even try to scare you. They also werenât even that dressed up some face makeup and thatâs basically it. It was extremely quick and not scary. I did go during the glow stick event weekend so none of the animatronics were on. I would not recommend going during this event. It was extremely boring with the lights out. After this I waited about 30 minutes on the line for the temple haunted house just to be told they might not open and recommended us to go to the evil in the woods one. We waited about 30 minutes again just to realize that after this long line to get into the attraction, there was another line that was just as long. After I saw that, I decided that it was not worth it and just left. I went to the cage after because there was no line at all there. Again, there were barely any actors. Only 2 were in this one. While I was walking through it two actors were just standing still and I couldnât even tell if they were real. One of them just shook the fence and the other one just was chilling there and said âthanks for wasting your money on us.â This got me really mad. It is a waste of money, for 6 attractions it costs about $50 and for a single attraction itâs about $25 which is ridiculous. Thatâs where they get you. It would make no sense to get these attractions individually so you pay for all 6 and you most likely wonât even get to go into all of them. This place has so much potential but it was just way to disorganized. Overall this was by far the worst haunted house place Iâve ever been to and would never go ever again. Save your time and money and go somewhere...
Read moreMy fiancĂ© has been a haunt actor for over 10 years on the west coast (where heâs from). I have been a haunt actor for 3 years, and a film and horror enthusiast my entire life. We came to Bayville Scream Park tonight for the first time ever; based on previous bad reviews, I wasnât expecting muchâŠbut was pleasantly VERY surprised by this haunt attraction! Do NOT listen to the bad reviews if youâre a haunt enthusiast like my fiancĂ© and I. We understand first hand the amount of work that gets put into building a seasonal haunt like this, and we were SO impressed. The attention to detail in the haunt scenes was incredible. The props and animatronics were all TOP notchâŠvisibly high quality, both vintage and newer piecesâŠas an oddities and horror memorabilia collector, I could tell, and was in awe of some of the animatronics and prop pieces included in the haunt sets. There were several stand out haunt actors, one in particular in the Asylum house that really impressed usâŠI wish I could remember their name, but they were an insane clown type of character towards the end of the asylumâŠtruly excellent haunt actor that I could tell loves their job. The themed drinks at both the regular and secret bars were all delicious and pretty strong. The syringe Jell-O shots were tasty and so much fun! The food at Shipwreck restaurant was delicious, and the decor inside the restaurant itself was spectacular. The staff were all incredibly nice, accommodating, and helpful. I was so excited to learn that the owner of Bayville Scream Park also used to own Jekyll & Hyde NYCâŠa horror themed restaurant that I spent many days at (including my 16th birthday party) growing upâŠit was one of my favorite things to visit in NYC and I was literally devastated to find out they closed down after the covid shut downs. Once I was told the owner was the same, I knew why the Scream Park was SO well done and had so many impressive set builds, props, and animatronics. I would love to sit and chat with the owner sometime because I have so many ideas for future haunt builds at this place and would love to meet a fellow haunt enthusiast that Iâve unknowingly admired for so many years growing up at Jekyll & Hyde NYC! We had a blast and intend to visit Bayville Scream Park again in October! Our favorite haunts there were the Insane Asylum and Bloodworth Manor, but they were genuinely all great. We are thinking of...
