I went to dinner here, Friday before Christmas. They had a Christmas special at the scream park. I went with my daughter and granddaughter who is 20 months old. It was very cold out so we got through it very fast. We went to shipwreck. We arrived at 7pm we were the only people in there , there were 7 of us . My husband my daughter her husband my granddaughter my niece and her husband. I asked where is everyone? Waitress said it was slow with the cold. We put an order in for 6 burger meals. 1/2 hour went by and our food was not ready. 1 hour went by and still not ready. My daughter her husband my niece and her husband had a beer each. Waitress came over and apologized and said everything was frozen so it’s taking a long time. My granddaughter had had it by now and it was making my daughter nervous. She asked how much longer ? We were told again 5 more minutes. 8:10 finally the food started coming out one by one. When I got my burger the waitress was right the top bun was still frozen on the inside. My daughter said to the waitress this is rediculous the food is uneatable and we are not paying for it. Waitress said she was going to call the police, we said go ahead. Waitress called the manager and when the manager came over my daughter started explaining what took place. The manager started telling my daughter that she didn’t like her body language and it better change cause she’s not from the streets. My daughter got louder we were in disbelief at what was going on. My husband stood up and said stop insulting my daughter. Manager said to my husband and me we should be a shamed for raising such a daughter. It was getting very loud. A young man came in and had to get between them she kept yelling I’m not from the streets. What ever that means I don’t know. The young man had to physically hold her back. The young man heard our story and said we didn’t have to pay for the food but we had to pay for the 4 beers. The waitress was taking so long to figure out the bill my niece gave her her credit card and said just let me pay the bill cause there was a lot of yelling. No one could get it under control the manager went nuts. We finally left. My daughter searched for the owner the next day on the Internet. She wrote him a very long letter explaining everything. He did respond by telling her that he would look into it and questioned his employees. He really never got back to us nor offer a refund since the young man said we didn’t have to pay cause we didn’t eat the food. I believe the positive reviews are from the people who work there or by the owner himself. Please stay away from this shipwreck it is a whole...
Read moreIt’s a Saturday night, it’s busy, I get it. Yet, being professional counts, especially under pressure. Here I go with my experience at the Shipwreck Tavern, we waited 10 minutes to be seated, I was with a party of 4, I had to find someone to be seated. After speaking to the third employee, I was told I could sit at a table I chose. We got menus after 5 minutes, then waited nearly 20 minutes until our orders were taken. While we waited, I noticed at least 15 people waiting at the entrance to the restaurant, and still no hostess to greet at the door, or at least to give a wait time for said seating.
We finally got to order our drinks and meals. My girlfriend and her bestie tried to order a bottle of wine to share. Apparently there was a mistake with the menu, bottles of wine were not supposed to be listed, plus all drafts beer were unavailable, including other bottled drinks, and mozzarella sticks, this should have been mentioned before we ordered. Our drinks were served with our meals after 20 minutes. Drinks are served before our meals were made. On top of that, we had to ask twice for our utensils after our meals were served, instead of having them from the moment we order meals. There was a mistake with our order, and after we were told we wouldn’t be charged for the mistake, we were charged anyway.
Truthfully, the food for me was good. Burgers were ordered medium, and were served medium. Usually for me, that’s hard to find. The kitchen did a great job, but the servers were at a loss and rude. We asked for our checks to be split, and they couldn’t do that. Apparently that was our fault. Servers where unapologetic, and had a snarky attitude. Finally when our bill was brought out, we asked for a manager to discuss wrongful charges on our bill, and for the poor lack of service. The manager never came. There was a gratuity charge of $26.70 automatically added to our bill, needless to say, we didn’t want to pay. We waited almost 30 minutes for the manager who never came, so we took it on ourselves not to pay the gratuity. They were lucky we didn’t have exact change, so they got off with a $6 tip.
Finally, I’ve done this job before in much busier locations. This service should include a friendly demeanor, with a smile, and professional courtesy. This establishment needs to realize that their servers are ruining their business. I will not be coming back to this restaurant ever again. Good luck Shipwreck. The name implied the...
Read moreThis was the worst experience I’ve had in my life. Reservations was for 8pm and it was prepaid for this valentines special with the haunted house. Didn’t get seated until 8:45. No waitress came to even greet us until 20 minutes later after we had to tell the hostess that we are still waiting. 20 mins after ordering the appetizers ( mozzarella sticks) was cold when it arrived so the waitress exchange it for a salad. Around 10pm we get our food and My chocked sandwich was Raw. I’m a picky eater so I always order my food plain so I always check 1st and it looked great no cheese No onions No sauce just how I asked and that 1st bite killed my whole appetite. My fiancé order the cheeseburger and fries and before she ate anything her food was cold like it have been waiting to get picked up for a long time. Called the waitress over so she hear the bread crunch from that cheeseburger bun that was completely hard. We haven’t even received any water at all and was not asked for refills on the drinks we ordered. We asked for the manager and when he came he no apology just took the food and said he’ll bring me new food and quickly left. Waiting for over 20 min when we seen the manager again and told him we are still waiting My fiancé was not satisfied and left. So I’m waiting for the manager to come back, at this point I told him I need a refund reservation was for 8 and it’s passed 10:30pm he haven’t ate and the food is still not ready... He says I can’t give a refund for online orders. Why would I even want to eat here anymore. He told me he would go get the food himself and I told him I wanted my chicken sandwich plain because I knew they would mess the sandwich up now but at this point I don’t even plan on eating just want to walk out with some bags of food so I can’t feel like I just got robbed. After he finally brings my food he apologized, I didn’t even check the bag just got the food and left because I still had to go to the 3 haunted houses before they close. You know when we got home my chicken sandwich had everything on it(cheese, onions and sauce) that I don’t eat so I just threw it away. My fiancé Burger was bloody raw so she had to put it on the stove herself to try to cook it. She is making her own review with her pictures. This place needs to be closed down. I would never recommend this...
