Four days ago I had written a glowing review of this place as during previous visits we were very pleased. This afternoon the wheels fell off the bus. During the 1PM hour I walked in to notice one person ahead of me ordering and one person waiting to pick up their order. I ordered two simple egg sandwiches and a chicken cutlet on a roll. I asked the counter person three times and very clearly to heat the cutlet and not the bread. “So, you want the chicken warm?” “Yes, please.” I sat at the little counter to wait for my order. The person who was in front of me in line was served her order and another person who had come in behind me picked up his as well. I waited a while longer and was called to the counter that my order was ready. When I noticed there were two sandwiches on the counter I reminded the clerk that I ordered three sandwiches and went over the order again. He turned to make the missing egg & cheese sandwich. I remain entirely uncertain how the error had occurred but feeling that I had waited long enough, I asked to pay the tab. Upon returning home with lunch, my wife opened her sandwich to find what can be seen in the accompanying photos. Not to be out done and not as egregious an error, but my chicken cutlet was ice cold, too. So, I call the store. I explain the situation. The guy on the phone gats all toney. Instead of saying something to the effect of; “Let me send someone right over with a replacement sandwich”, what I got was a condescending ear full of a lesson on how to cook turkey bacon, topped off with; “I’ll mail you a check and you can find another place that can make you happy”. We already have. But, sadly our lunch was already ruined and $$$ went down the drain. It's a shame because the place is so close to home, but as the guy from the phone call, who I believe is (one of?) the owner (s?), already knows from overhearing my wife on the phone, we will not...
Read moreI want to give it 5 stars, but I cant yet.... Food has been great, staff friendly and attentive, but 4 out of 5 times I've gone they didn't make my order to my request. From as simple as, "please put it on a roll, not a hero" i still get a hero. Or "Can you put the sauce on the side" sauce is smothered on sandwich, and when I asked, I was told we can scrape it off or make it again for you. I do appreciate the offer of fixing it, but now I have to wait. And the store takes a loss on that sandwich. Just follow simple instructions. The phone is always busy when you try and call in an order, I'd like to use there website, but you cant put in special requests, for example if you simply dont want tomatoes on one of there specialty sandwiches, you cant do that unless you call or go in to order. But phone is ALWAYS busy, it's a good thing, cause there busy, but makes it difficult for customers to place an order. Lastly, they say, your order will be ready in 20 min. Each order, that was the exact time I was told, I went in after 30 min, order wasn't ready, took 45-55 min. Your busy, I get it, but dont say 20 min when it's closer to an hour for your order. Then I dont need to stand around in your store waiting. Great place, great food, but some kinks they still need to work out. Hopefully this gets to the right person and there online ordering gets easer, and my next sandwich is made to order, in the time...
Read moreI’ve been anxiously waiting for Burns Park Deli to open! Welcome to the neighborhood! Stopped in a couple of times and was not disappointed. I met and was taken care of by George and Jocelyn. Both were polite, professional, engaging and seemed to enjoy what they were doing. The BEC was fantastic! There’s nothing like biting into a fresh poppyseed roll and tasting the classic egg cheese and bacon combo. Another day I stopped in and tried their roast beef sandwich. George built me a work of art - crunchy fresh lettuce, packed Boars Head, smooth Swiss and a touch or horseradish. Delicious and it filled me up. The store is spotlessly clean, shelves are fully stocked, they have a grab and go full of in-house soups and other items. Prices are fair, parking is available. I’m glad Burns Park Deli is on the block, I wish them well, I recommend, and I...
