CountryMax- Brockport — Attraction in Town of Sweden

My fiance and I have been shopping here for two years, and not even once have the people working here ever greeted us or said hello when we come in. They look away and ignore you and act like you aren't even there. You have to greet THEM to even get them to speak to you or look your way. The people who work here have HORRIBLE people skills, make us feel like we are nobody at all and not worth talking to. Nobody says hi, welcome, nor do they even smile at us. They act like we are an inconvenience. The final straw was waiting for TWENTY MINUTES to just get crickets after three employees walked by us and also ignored us as they did nothing but talk and laugh to each other and didn't even ask us if we needed help. We will never be shopping at this location again, we have more respect for ourselves than that, and if you respect yourself too you will also avoid this store. This location also let a Uromastyx starve to death for months as well, and when he got too sickly to move, they hid his dead body behind a log and treated him like he was disposable. They have done this with countless other animals too, but we cannot buy them all and save them. They take horrible care of their animals and I wish the administration would check out this location and see how bad it is for themselves. It's shameful to even call themselves a pet store when they can't even care for their animals properly. If anyone from countrymax is reading this, you should be ashamed of yourself. Do better. If i could give them negitive 5 stars i would. This review is about -pet rats -frozen feeder rats for snakes I bought two Dumbo pet rats there within the same week. They both have a life threating upper respitory infection. Did you know they only garentee your pets life for five days? How can you even analyze if your pet is 100% healthy in 5 days? URI is a highly contagious illness. Meaning all the dumbos they have are probably now infected, along with possibly any other animals in that room. I called them (still within the 5 day garentee for one of them) and i was talked to by what sounded like a teenage girl who couldnt care less about my animals or the ones still in her care. All she cared about was if i was still within the 5 days and if i wanted my money back. And the tone she used was majorly offensive If you want to get a new pet, i would highly sudgest going to a breeder or adopting. It may be more money to buy them, but you will end up saving 100s in vet bills and or dissapointment. Shouldve known when i saw 3 dead baby feeder rats just laying in another cage on the floor that this place was carless. Also i used to buy frozen feeder rats and mice for my snakes , when i thaw them it looks like they bash there heads in. Usually they will have arms or tails almost broke off. Blood would be coming out of there noses. Looks like they wack them on a table a few times then toss em in the freezer. It is grotesque. Think about how horibly they treat there animals...

I wish I could give negative stars based on the lack of customer service and apathetic attitudes of staff. I wanted to buy an item and it rang up over $10 more than the label on the shelf. Cashier, who was busy leaning over the counter looking at her phone, coudn't be bothered to look into the discrepancy and let me walk back to double check the price. I had pictures of the shelf label, but she had no comment. I wound up buying another brand. Cashier told another employee to just put it back on the shelf. No "sorry it was mis-labelled" or "I'll make sure its corrected." As the 2nd employee walked away to put the item back so it can disappoint another customer, cashier and another employee behind the register both shouted and laughed at him about how much noise he was making, all while I was paying for my purchase. Also, I spent 10 minutes in the tropical fish room without one employee acknowleging me. I saw many dead fish in the tanks, including the one I was planning on buying. Honestly, the company should be embarrased of the environment in this store. I have had a couple of positive experiences here in the last ten years, but its nowhere near enough to keep my business any longer. Today was the last straw. Looking through the other reviews left here, I see I'm not alone...
