Life in the ADK — Local services in Town of Webb

My wife & I stopped in on August 2nd, 2020. At first glance, appears they have some nice merchandise. Although sparse, most of it you can't find elsewhere. However, what made this place a 1-star, especially during a pandemic & state-wide mask mandate, is how clearly the owner didn't care to enforce the mask wearing. She wasn't wearing it, there were no signs indicating to wear one, nor were the few customers she was chatting with. Every other store in Old Forge had some kind of sign and everybody complied including any workers or show owners... except Life in the ADK. Not even any hand sanitizer in the store, unlike every other business, including the tacky souvenir stores. Needless to say, we walked out without any consideration to buy what initially looked appealing, because the owner clearly doesn't care about safety through this...

We walked in as the proprietor was making a resin serving tray. I told her I wanted the tray and would be back to get it in a few days because we were headed upstate. I was so specific about us wanting the tray that I left two different phone numbers with her to contact me (one cell, one landline), and told her the day we would be back. So we return and the owner said the tray had been damaged and was unavailable. No phone call...no contact at all. We drove an extra forty miles when a simple call would have saved us the trouble. My guess is she sold the tray and didnt want the bother of telling us. Piss poor business. We will not be back. As a former resident of NY and someone that takes his vacations in the ADK, I have to say this has been typical of the service we've received...

My family & I love the Adirondacks!! Since we’ve been going to Old Forge. My dad had seen this store called Life In The ADK! We just had to go in and check it out. One day we did and we absolutely have been hooked since! Michelle the owner of the store is truly the best of the best. Not enough words can do justice! You go in the store you get greeted right away. We bought Soo Soo much I can’t even list everything and INLOVE WITH EVERYTHING! Shopping online on her store is just as amazing! Currently bought a few things for my dad via the website. I just ordered two tumblers and was struggling. I had personally messaged Michelle and she walked me through it and helped me make it happen!
