West Valley Mall — Attraction in Tracy

It's so sad to see how this place has completely went from the "place to be for shopping" to what it is today..... pretty empty! I remember as a kid it was so exciting to come and ride the carosel as we ate and it would be an whole day's adventure practically because of the amount of places to shop.... and now, there's no carosel in the 'carosel cafe' with very slim pickins for lunch and I would have to guess that 1/2-3/4 of the shops are completely empty and some are randomly closed during open hours but still in business but one shop owner told me that she can't open everyday cuz it costs her too much so she opens only on weekends. It's heartbreaking to know how awesome this place was and could be again if the community goes to shop there.... but it's like most malls seem to be going under or out for whatever reason.... so do I think it's amazing not exactly but do I suggest that you go and maybe the community can revive this place, naturally yes, of course!

UPDATE: With falling prices & bid rl now down by Macy's it seems the mall gets more foot traffic and a few new businesses are opening but sadly some still closing. There's a new thrift store by target but the furniture place is going out.... Seems to be somewhat the same nearly ghost-town...

Must travel for good mall shopping. Barnes & Noble was a great spot wish they'd figure out how to bring a smaller one back! West Valley Mall needs to do on going polls to see what people are leaving the area for. The area has a lot of kids! We need affordable sports gear, more kids clothes, Starbucks inside the mall and it needs to be right next to a multi-age play area! Which needs to be right next to a bunch of kids clothing stores! Which needs to next to affordable things women want to buy & they use up quick; specialty foods, Trader Joe's, natural Make-up, lotion, oils, candles, etc. The Mall design needs to meet the needs of stay at home parents with kids from baby to older teen. People don't want to leave Tracy for shopping but there's very little at the mall! Collect data via on going polls & work on expanding the mall!

The area is in serious need of a better designed family area to draw us in! So many birthday parties are in Modesto & Pleasanton area it's crazy! For Teen entertainment bring in Boomers! For older kids/Young Adult bring in Dave & Busters! Multi level parking is a must!!! Parking is awful! Tracy is growing, stop people from leaving to shop & play in the Bay by giving them what they are...

This mall is TERRIBLE. Half the stores are closed down!! Its already a small ONE story mall..so to have half the stores closed down is ridiculous. The mall cop JENNIFER is so rude and unprofessional..one of those mall cops who couldnt make it as a REAL cop so is mad at the world and going to make everyone miserable because of it. Seen her being rude to someone outside the mall so got out my phone to record, she noticed and tried rushing my car yelling at me to stop recording. That i couldnt record..i told her i wasnt (because i WASNT yet) and she got super ghetto and unprofessional on me dropped some cuss words and acted as if she was ready to street fight..which at this point i was all for because lesson needed to be learnt on her behalf...BUT since i had my kids with me i had to take her BS on the chin. she even taunted me after i told her my kids were in the back seat. Incredible. However if u DO go into the mall there are very friendly people working there like the lady at the chinese food place..she is amazing..wonderful service EVERYTIME no fail..i come into eat there just because of her.
