I had a horrible experience with Love & Lupines. I wanted to love them so badly; they were a preferred vendor and I’d seen so many beautiful posts of their work at our venue. I also had a great experience with my initial contact, in which I felt comfortable moving forward with over a year before our date without inquiring with any other florists.
Fast forward to 5 months before our wedding, I reached out to realign and share updates since the initial proposal. My contact had since left the company, so I had a new point of contact. She was helpful and responsive overall, but I never quite felt understood or heard. We certainly had some back and forth over the months, which was natural as we worked to finalize the quote. I think it’s helpful to note that I am a very Type A bride and very much in the details (likely even more than the 'average' bride). Even so, my vendors made me feel heard and comfortable each step of the way, but this vendor truly made me feel like a huge burden at each step. The tipping point was when I asked about the details of the taxes not adding up (I had entered costs into a spreadsheet so I could easily play around with the options to finalize, and I noticed that my tax didn’t match theirs). It was simply a question for understanding, not about the ~$60 difference in the final cost, but that morning, Meghon, the owner jumped in and attacked me for asking such a question. To this day, I still don’t understand why she felt the need to belittle her customer for simply asking a question for understanding. This was one of my only interactions with her directly and it left a horrible taste in my mouth and was never fully resolved. I decided to be the bigger person in my response and even apologized, but I never heard back from Meghon and my main contact continued on as if it never happened.
The week of the wedding, I finalized the delivery details for what goes where on the wedding day and added an extra boutonnière to the order. The morning of the wedding, the boutonnieres were delivered incorrectly and we were two short total. My planner tried to help coordinate but then told me that I was incorrect on the final count (she had the 2021 original contract, not the 2022 contract that had been revised several times since) so I had to pull up the final proposal the morning of my wedding to prove that we were missing two boutonnieres. This, combined with the past trauma from this florist, set me over the edge and I sobbed the morning of my wedding (after my makeup was done) over these stupid flowers. To this day, this is one of my biggest regrets from my wedding day, and I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. To top it off, the details of our wedding decor and reception space were left out, even thought they had been outlined with my contact many times—we paid extra for florals on our Welcome sign, when I arrived, it was greenery only, there were no bud vases on the cocktail tables, and when I did the initial walkthrough of our reception space, I couldn’t help but notice the garland was incorrectly placed (10 ft garland was ordered for the one 12 ft table and 8 ft garland was used there). I’m sure no one else even noticed this stuff, but because I was so in the details for my wedding, I did and it made my heart sink each time. The flowers did turn out lovely in the photos, and for that, I’m grateful (and the reason why I’m giving 2 stars with this review instead of 1).
My best guess is that they had too many weddings on my July Saturday wedding date and simply couldn’t or didn’t care to keep up with the details because I was a ‘smaller’ wedding to them (spending ~$6.5k, which was still a lot to spend on flowers to me personally).
I went back and forth so many times about writing/posting this review, but even though I had to relive my experience, I decided that this information should be shared with others. It’s long, but if you’ve taken the time to read this, I hope it helps you make an educated decision when choosing a florist to work with for your special (& expensive) wedding day...
Read moreOH. MY. GOODNESS. I cannot rave enough about Love & Lupines!!! I just had my wedding two weeks ago and it was absolutely PERFECT. The single biggest jaw-dropping surprise of the entire wedding was the absolutely unbelievably stunning florals from Love & Lupines. They were the star of the show. So many guests said they were the most beautiful flowers they've ever seen.
Before two weeks ago, I was a person who thought it was silly to spend a lot of money on florals for my wedding, and from seeing florals at other weddings just didn't think they were important. I have never been so wrong. I have never seen flowers like these. And it must be noted that Love & Lupines was the more reasonably-priced florist that I considered - what we received from them was SUCH an incredibly good value for what we paid.
When I was standing at the ceremony of my own wedding, it was hard to focus on my husband standing in front of me because the flowers just behind him were so stunning and enchanting - I'm not exaggerating! I had asked Love & Lupines to optimize for blooms over volume on tables, and volume over blooms in the ceremony spaces - yet somehow even with what I paid them they still managed to create the most beautiful ceremony flowers I've ever seen in my life.
Moreover, they are local to Truckee (where we live) and source all of their flowers from local farms. Incredible that by supporting a local small business we got to have world-class florals that totally created the most beautiful visual experience imaginable. We are...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of working with Love and Lupines for my daughter’s wedding, and I cannot express enough how absolutely stunning the flowers and designs turned out! From the very first consultation, it was clear that Love and Lupines was not just a florist but a true artist. They took the time to understand our vision, offering thoughtful suggestions and creating a design that perfectly captured the aesthetic we were going for. The bride’s bouquet was beyond breathtaking—a perfect blend of colors, textures, and fragrances that made them feel both elegant and unique. The centerpieces were nothing short of magical, transforming our venue into a romantic and dreamy setting. The floral arch at our ceremony was an absolute showstopper, and our guests couldn’t stop raving about it. What really stood out to me was Love and Lupines’ attention to detail. From the tiniest flower accent to the overall design, everything was executed flawlessly. On the day of the wedding, they delivered and set up everything with such professionalism and care. The flowers were fresh, vibrant, and held up beautifully throughout the day. I’m so grateful to Love and Lupines for bringing my floral dreams to life and for making my daughter’s wedding day even more unforgettable. I would recommend them without hesitation to anyone looking for a florist who is not only talented but genuinely passionate about what they do. Thank you for making our...
