I normally love going to home goods but yesterday was different I went with the intent to buy pot hangers I’ve seen them there before but they had none I also had a couple of plastic flower pots I ended up not using and wanted to return but didn’t have the receipt. I shop TJ Maxx ALOT more than home goods but I know they’re sister stores along with Marshall’s which I use to work at. I am familiar with the return protocols. None the less I was treated rudely from the start when I walked up to the counter and informed them I had a return without a refit if I should leave the product up front while I shop. An older woman who turned out to the manager said no they don’t hold things I need to shop with with it so ok I did as I walked away she told another customer “imagine how crowded it’d be if I held everyone’s stuff “ why talk about a customer to another customer ? Especially when they may still hear you ? I said nothing though. I walked around saw no gardening stuff or flower pots and so I figured I’d just return the ones I had since I wouldn’t be using them after all. Well I was treated even worse by another older woman. These were both older white women white or very blonde hair btw I didn’t get their names. None the less I tell this woman I have a return and don’t have the receipt I get my ID out because I know that’s what they’ll need and all I can get is store credit. She looks annoyed from the start says she can’t read the label needs a new one. The label was fine lol completely fine so I already sensed this might become something although I hoped it wouldn’t. In end they treated me like a criminal indirectly but persistently accused me of changing the sticker (this was a $20 item 2 pots for $20) all this for $20 right ? I was very thrown off at their approach and frankly didn’t understand it. I told them again I definitely bought ti here late July I didn’t think I’d return it but ended up not using it I was coming to look for more things today and figured I’d just return them now that I’m making the trip . I did not touch the sticker and I know exactly where you had these displayed does no one working here remember their inventory ? I know I did when I worked retail for years . In the end the cashier told me she can’t return it and I can wait for Lisa the manager (who had already agreed with this other cashier ) so I go over to Lisa not because I was eager for $20 but because I was shocked I was being treated like a criminal while having it crystal clear I bought them there and it’s a common and honest mistake to misplace a receipt. Also at that point plenty of other customers had noticed what was going on and No I was not going to walk away allowing everyone their to treat me that way and go on thinking I’m a thief. Lisa returned it but kept talking about how often people switch tags and I told her really ? That was not my experience in the 8 years I worked retail MOST are not thief’s most are honest people. I can’t say I was satisfied simply because I was able to return it because again that wasn’t that important it was only $20 but the way they treated me from the get go was an injustice and wrong . Very unpleasant and I feel saddened by it thinking maybe it was because I was a young Hispanic woman while most customers at that hour were older white women. Not sure why I was treated so poorly that day it’s usually not notable not good or bad just people doing their job but yesterday I won’t forget. I would have done 1 star but I unfortunately really do love this store and their products . Along with its sister stores so I couldn’t do 1 star while I will likely go back there’s only 1 HomeGoods here in Tucson to my knowledge which sucks ! Anyway...
Read moreI really love Homegoods so it makes me disappointed to write this. Today I was in there looking for some baskets for my store. I have found all of the others one I purchased there, so naturally I went back! I found the same basket I had gotten before, and wandered around the store looking for its twin. I couldn't find anywhere, so I looked for a store associate to ask (since last time I was there they had happened to see some lying around other parts of the store and were nice enough to help us find them!) to see if she had happened to see any. I walked up to her and said "excuse me" to get her attention. She responded with nothing and turned and looked at me. I disregarded it and said "hi I just wanted to ask if you know if you have any more of these baskets in the store". She took a deep breath and rolled her eyes and said "what we have is out in the store, there is nothing in the back, and we don't and can't order anything" in a tone as if I was 4 years old. I was still respectful and said back " Ok, I understand that, I was just wondering if you had happened to see any, last time an employee had seen some laying around and helped us find them" and she says in the most sarcastic tone "Well yeah, if someone picks one up and leaves it in another part of the store, it's gonna be there!". I was shocked, for no reason she was extremely rude! I ended up putting the basket and the rest of my shopping back. Definitely left a bad impression on me, and don't have any intentions of going back anytime soon. Guess the expression "doesn't hurt to ask" doesn't apply...
Read moreUpdate (9/5/2025): Very busy store. Couldn't find what I was looking for. The employees have sad faces. Prices are higher than Ross. Kitchen/Bath fabrics were all bland colors. Some shoppers were complaining in aisles. I bought what few colorful items i could find for my home. I'd give it 2.5 stars if I could since it was an underwhelming visit.
(4/22/2025 1:07pm) The teflon started flaking off our old pots and pans, and our cutlery started to rust at the handles. Thank goodness I decided to go here to find stainless steel cookware. This location had stainless cutlery too. I bought two pots and two pans all under $20 each. Three Italian made wood spoons, so as not to scratch the cookware, each under $5. Three reusable bento boxes for under $5, and the cutest little stainless mug for $4. Talk about a great deal. Irene did a great job as a cashier and was very professional. I appreciate the best customer service HomeGoods...
