It's a great City parkway on the southwest side of town. On the part that's facing mission they have baseball field playground that you even have a public pool but I don't know if it's open right now because it looks close all the time but I would look it up to see but it would be a great neighborhood pool to take kids. It has a grass and ramadas great for picnicking or just the day out with your dog or for a stroll in the park like they do in the movies hahaha. On the backside they have the lake so don't be fooled if you can't find the lake on the front side you have to go all the way around through a whole entrance in the back to get to the lake. They have fishing they have ramadas they used to have a little boat Bay but that's all shut down now there's a great viewof the Catalina mountains I love just going and parking and just watching the mountains to decompress and let stress go because it's so pretty when it snowed this was the perfect spot to see it. The lake is Big it's bigger than the two little legs at Reid Park there are ducks that you can feed are several types of species of ducks and another water bird that I forget the name of it but they're really cute and there's tons of them. There's ramadas to sit down but there is fishing and you do need a license so I would look into that before you...

If i could give it ZERO stars i would. i went today to watch a friends daughter play 10-12 softball. everything went well till the 3rd inning when the other team had some girls show up wearing "club" ball uniforms. they immediately put them in wearing their "Club" ball uniforms that didnt even match the team. when i address the teams coach saying "do you need some money to help to pay for the matching shirts (because rules state that girls need to be in correct uniform to play and to have been there at the start of the game before going thru the batting order) the coach turns to me and says " THIS IS MY FIELD I AM ON THE BOARD OR DIRECTORS AND I WILL KICK YOU OUT AND HAVE YOU REMOVED FROM THIS PARK." I told him the girls are here to have fun and you bring in girls after rotation of batting order without thinking of the other girls on your team and they played the whole game in a different uniform telling the girls on the opposite team that you as a coach are laughing in their face with theses girls that are instantly put in as a pitcher and catcher team. Again tells me " I WILL HAVE YOU REMOVED I AM A BOARD MEMBER AND THIS IS MY PARK" Thats so nice that you want to pull a power trip like that.... Iknow with a board member of Kennedy Park cheating the system i dont want to...

It's amazing the lack of attention this park gets. The bathrooms are disgusting. I have seen, in the morning, the employees only spend a couple of seconds changing toilet paper, and spray everything with water. No sign of proper disinfecting, despite the fact we could get COVID. Graffiti that has been there for MONTHS without being removed. There's so much trash everywhere that it would seem like no one is actually working here. I have watched employees just drive right past trash without stopping to pick it up. I have noticed an employee just sit around for over 45 minutes not doing anything. There's always dead fish along the shore of the lake, so I hope you like rotting fish smell while taking a walk. Ramadas never look clean unless it is on the weekend. You might as well only use them when you see a reserved sign, because that will be the cleanest point that ramada will be. Their waste area, with the dumpsters, looks terrible and trash keeps blowing from that area into the main park. Have yet to have anything more than a "meh" interaction with the employees there.

Edit: I do not recommend using the bathroom by the lake parking lot if you have arachnophobia. There's cobwebs on the ceiling that seem to have been there for eons with how much dirt has...

Everytime I need to get back in touch with nature I come here to find peace of mind and seek God's divine inspiration. This is one of my favorite park to visit in town. It has stunning views of the mountains, beautiful sunsets to be captured and many different creatures of the desert can be seen in their natural habitats. Roadrunners, quails, coyotes, javalinas, dragonflies, butterflies, bees, lizards, cardinals, deers, and much more. It offers many wonderful hiking trails also. A fishing pond. A short walk from a public library. Playgrounds and ball fleids. I hope in the future the park opens up the outdoor theatre area for events as it is truly one of a kind to enjoy in the evening with the stars shining above. The park is always kept clean and the staff are kind enough to wave while attending to their duties. I highly recommend a visit to this park. God bless the nature and creation all surrounding. 🙏✌️

The lake had a bunch of metal trash cans thrown into it. There were several dead fish along the edge of the lake. The natural algae was dying off and floating off to the edge the reeds. They were obviously trying to do something with the lake, hopefully trying to fix the ecosystem, as evidenced by the severely cut back reeds and trees that were piled up near the east side of the lake. Called in an injured Coot while I was there. Thankfully they were able to pick it up, along with one that was also deceased, to hopefully find out what happened to them. But learned something new, Coots aren't ducks at all. They're their own type of bird! So there's that for our Sunday stroll through the park. Hopefully they bring it back to the way it used to be....
