I have eaten my last meal at Miss Saigon on Campbell. I have been experiencing bad service, food that was not prepared correctly. Today was the final straw! I asked for a plate that is fried tofu with mushrooms and other vegetables and rice noodles. #19 I think it is. A delicious plate when prepared correctly. it came out of the kitchen and the tofu was not cooked. When we asked for it to go back and bring the right one the server Vinnie said he was irritated that I didn't accept it like it came. Well it wasn't on the menu like that so I didn't accept it. They brought it out and there were no mushrooms at all - none. I asked why there were no mushrooms and he said with a really bad attitude that 'THAT IS THE WAY YOU ALWAYS ORDER IT' and i told him I like the mushrooms and it comes on the plate normally. Well he didn't like that either. I decided to just not eat the plate since it was a bad experience. When I went to pay I asked that they take it off the bill. He rushed over and told me he was not taking anything off the bill no matter how it came out and it was just my tough luck. I said, 'Sir are you arguing with a client who spends sometimes $100 a week there easily?' and he said "YES I'M ARGUING WITH YOU!' I told him to just go ahead then and charge me for the food I didn't eat and I would just never eat there again since there are plenty of other restaurants in Tucson, and he laughed and took my money and took the dish back and I left there very upset, because when Tina was there she was so nice and the service was always great, food was great and it was much more crowded than it has been lately. When a great restaurant or any business begins to believe they can serve what they want how they want and charge what they want and treat their clients rudely then it becomes a pattern that digs them a negative pattern that ultimately closes their doors. I come from Dallas Texas and trust me 80% of all places there close in 6 mos due to just not having it down right for perfect service and staff. So if it was worth a $8 bowl of food to lose $300 a month and have me write a review like this and pass the word about other restaurants to all my colleagues then I guess it is what is the future of...
Read moreA friend of mine had told me about this place and we decided to try it one evening. With us being from the south bay, we know we can get pretty good asian food there. Thought we'd give it a try one night. I decided to go in and place an order. First of all it's slightly pricier than other places and after waiting for my "to go" order for an hour, it seemed that there were only 2 people working the tables, possibly even 1 cook in the back. Granted I ordered a lot of food since we are a family of 5, but I watched so many families come in and out within the hour I waited for my food. Of course, they made me pay for my food as soon as I ordered but had I known it was going to take that long, I would've just left. And to top it off, all they gave me was water for my wait! Someone came in to pick up an order and they were offered hot tea! I should've been offered some hot tea as well and maybe an appetizer. Instead all I got was "your order should be coming" every single time each of the two ladies walked by me .
Anyway, the food was ok. I ordered 3 large Phos for my hubby and the kids. The noodles were very mushy. I also ordered 2 grilled pork with vermicelli (my fave). The nuoc mam (spelling?) was ok, not much flavor to it. Ordered grilled pork fried rice for my kids as well. Not so good, the rice was hard and really no flavor. It actually seemed old. Yuck! Also, ordered the fresh shrimp rolls. Eh....probably wouldn't order it again unless all I want to eat is mushy noodles. And lastly, ordered 2 taro smoothies . I definitely know we can get it better and cheaper somewhere else, like Quikly ;-).
So in all, if we really needed a Pho/vietnamese food fix, I guess we could go here since its less than 5...
Read moreI have been to this place several times and each time I leave with the same though, "horrible never coming back again". A false sense of optimism kept forcing me to return to this place, thinking it was either them or me just having a bad day. Their proximity to the university is probably what keeps them full and encourages their poor customer service and food quality.
Strike 1. Their service is medicore. I went in, ordered food and stared at my phone for 30 mins in the hope of being served some food. The only thing I was served after nearly 40 mins was my check. When I told them I never got my food they looked at me all confused, as if I had somehow managed to eat the food with the plates (now that would be worthy of a talent show). No apologies on their part for having completely forgotten my food, they go back and come back later, with a cold improperly cooked serving of what I had ordered. Perhaps they where having a bad day .... Let's try again.
Strike 2. I ordered pho. The meat was not well cooked and felt like they had just thrown together the dish in the last 10 mins, even though they took 40+ mins to bring the order out. Perhaps I went at a busy time or the chef was new ....
Strike 3. I ordered chicken Dan Dan noodles. Can't really mess this up. Cold chicken, felt like eating rubber. I did try eating rubber as a kid, this chicken had the exact same texture. Partially cooked Noddles, which where hard and stuck together in some places. Perhaps I was an idiot to keep going back to this place ....
I do like to end on a happy note, so their boba tea is good. Just one of them, I will let you (the reader experiment...
